Sheesh, look at all the media hacks dragging their feet across the door panel. Slobs. Also, reading Autoblog is really brain sapping. Hatchback? Come on guys, you can't get it right and you even drove the car.

In better news, I like the quasi "T" logo repeating through the door switch bezel, HVAC bezel, & floormats.

I think we might be dreaming if we thought this car was going to MSRP at $22k.
I think Scion is dreaming if they think anyone would buy it over the Subaru...

Cars like that are a nightmare to get in/out of, I can understand how they would leave marks.

"Cars like that"....like what? Some cars are very poorly engineered for ingress & egress. I can only hope the media are being lazy slobs [they are] versus Toyota/Subaru failing to make foot egress reasonably easy.

Subcompact 2 seater cars, I know this is a 2+2, but it seems obvious that they originally designed it as a 2 seater.

Plus, my door panel on the GTI looks a lot like that as well. It's just plain hard to get out of.

The VW Mk6 has terrible egress. The door panel is too thick, the hinge centered in the wrong place, and the seat side panel trim blocks foot vector egress, forcing a complicated movement to get your foot out of the footwell. It's German engineering at its worst.

The R53 MINI has fantastic egress, and you can't deny that's a small 2+2. Ditto the Fiat 500. Even the C5/C6 Corvette has easy egress.

Toyota & Subaru would have to intentionally try to have egress worse than the Mk6 Golf.
