Had you done something like that to me I would have likely had my 9mm out of sight but in my hand when I pulled up to the light not knowing what your intentions were. I wouldn't have threatened you like he did however.

Gotta love your second amendment rights huh..

Fuck me, I'm glad I don't drive in the states .. you crazy fucks and your guns.

Why can't you just be a man and stand up for yourself without the assistance of said 9mm? What a joke - gone are the days of men being men I guess in the states when everyone and their mother has a gun waiting to shoot off at the slightest sign of conflict.

To the op:

What you did wrong? Easy, you accelerated and revved at an unknown modified car. I would have reacted the same way unless we were in the exact same car at which point I may have taken the rev in a different way. Stick to thumbs up and red light talking as your car doesn't give you instant comradery amongst tuners.

Ok from all the feedback I've received don't rev because it's rude. Ok that's fair. Even though I still think that if someone has a nice tuner what's the harm in revving to trigger a short joy ride? And second unless it's another frs don't give compliments because people are inherently jealous. Thanks for the feedback

i meant revving at other enthusiests not for attention from anybody else. never revved at muscles tho... pretty sure they would take it the wrong way

Believe me! I would MUCH rather solve any problem by discussing it, and THEN use my fists if I absolutely had to!

I would prefer it if all of the guns in the US disappeared tomorrow. The problem is that they aren't gone, there are some bad people out there that have them, and I don't want to be a victim.

I didn't make this world, and I didn't make the US in the shape it is now. I served my time believing in something better only to see things get worse.

I just live here and have to get by any way I can just like anyone else.

Sounds like the EVO driver is a little too attached to his car. Just ignore him.

If you weren't even close to hitting his car, I personally think the guy was being a bit of an over-reacting douche.

To be fair, I've been revved at a few times and I've always taken it as a sort of invitation to race/a challenge so that point is valid. However, a subsequent thumbs-up always immediately turns my annoyance into a smile and nod as the other guy normally either leaves me alone or drives off. I once had an e46 M3 pester me for a while back when my car was new. He was getting annoying and wouldn't leave me alone so I started to try and get away a bit. When I finally looked over I found the guy's little boy pressed up to the window flashing a huge grin and peace signs on both hands. Totally made my day as he gave me a thumbs up and backed off.

It sucks that we apparently live in an age where people take offense/go on the defensive at the slightest things though (as evidenced by Mr. 9mm up there), so I'd just advise you to avoid calling attention to yourself, appreciate the car, and only make a gesture if you happen to make eye-contact.

ETA: I also once had a guy hog the passing lane, move over to the right after about 3 miles of blocking me, let me pass him, then proceed to prevent me from moving out of the passing lane by sitting in my blind spot (we never got above 80 mph). I had to slow down to get behind him to pass another car we were coming up on in the fast lane (people don't seem to understand the left lane is a passing lane but that's a whole other story) , at which point he flipped me off through the rear window just before trying to brake checking me. Moral, some people are just a**holes.

Let's not generalize. I'm a CHL holder and firearms enthusiast. Your snide second amendment comment isn't warranted. I'm glad you live in Canada too.

I agree completely with your statement M1schiev0ous but some peoples' reactions are a direct result of personal experience. That goes for bad as well as good.

Having made it through one attempted car-jacking 3 years ago, I admit I am cautious, almost to the point of paranoia. It was directly due to that I purchased my legal firearm and got my concealed carry permit.

Fair enough. Speaking as a fellow firearm owner though, I still think adding more guns to any tense civilian situation generally only makes things worse, but that's a wholly conversation best taken off these boards, if even pursued at all.

Anyway, back on topic, I suggest we all just take wise advice from Bill & Ted and just be excellent to one another as often as possible

I've just been met with seeing some teenage or very wannabe Fast and Furious looking folk trying to give me that "chin up" lets go expression every time I've looked over when someone revs at me.

I tend to do a quick couple flashes of the headlamps followed by a thumbs up out the window if I wanted to get someones attention at a stoplight. Usually wait for eye contact though just so we both know we've got each other's attention.
