Im not sure about which of the BRZ or the GT86 yet myself.
Will be easier to decide when we see for real and test I guess. And of course, price will also help decide. I really want a blue metallic one tho. They look awesome! And since I really want a blue one I hope they will release it with a blue/black interior setup. Just for perfection. I will be 22 years by the time its released, and with 50% bonus. But due to studies I doubt I will have enough money to get one.. I want one so bad tho that Im really considering looking for a way to finance it. It would be awesome to own a car like this brand new. And yeah viking, my thought to, if its gonna cost 500kish Id reconsider and maybe look for an A5 coupe quattro. But like RaceR said they prob won't cost that much. Since Toyota gave me an estimate of 450k, My guess would be that they rather give an higher estimate price (and then hopefully drop the price a bit by the time its gonna be released), than giving a low estimate that they would have to price it way over. So lets hope for 390-410kish at most.

So - anyone heard anything about pricing in Norway yet? Or anything official from Subaru on the BRZ?

Hi,
I have ordered a BRZ in the US that I will bring back to Norway. I am not sure whether I can import it based on Co2 or I whether I need to base it on the 1-15 rules and the old system based on displacement, hp and weight. Anyway, I can't wait to test drive the car (and I hope I can live with the cheapish interior.)

EDIT 07.03.2012 : Called Toyota today. Had to check if they had some sort of discount for my company.
Talked to another seller, and he said they were in a meeting yesterday and he got new info on it. It was very uncertain that 100 models would arrive this year. Not sure if all of them would be available, and they would probably be late this year. So sales was probably going to start next year, but some people might be able to get a car this year. Price was estimated at 425k, but not sure. SO, things are still very uncertain. I just read in the latest "motor" magazine the price was estimated at 450k. But that might have been a rougher estimate?? __________________________________________________ _______________________ Posted: 06.03.2012 Visited Toyota Jæger in Bergen (Minde) and asked a seller about the GT86 today. -He said price would be 425.000 NOK. - Price was for the normal and only model ("base-model"). And that is the only model that should be available in 2012. Specifics (equipment list) about that model will be available in May. -Available for test drive in July, and also for sale/order. Did not ask if it was possible to pre-order. -100 GT86 cars would be arriving Norway in 2012. Those cars will be divided between the big dealerships in the largest cities. -The dealership in Bergen should have two cars with plates that could be test driven. They would probably not have a car on display inside the store (in 2012) -Norway is the first Nordic country to get the car. -The first 100 cars will mainly be in 3 colors. Orange, black... and also red, or was it silver?? 3 colors only for sure. I blame the sales person if some of this information is incorrect. Could also be my memory, but do not think I forgot or messed up this info. I also double checked the price with him. Last edited by RaceR; 03-07-2012 at 07:53 AM. |

I would like BRZ blue on the GT86. :/
Seems like Subaru has the best colors in my opinion.. Jæger (Toyota Minde) offers 8% discount for several companies. Maybe more or less for different companies? 425k - 8% = 391k So you might be able to haggle it down to to 400k from 425k? And if it costs 450k (well equipped?) then maybe it would be possible to get it down to 420k aswell? I just cross my fingers for 425k with everything. And not adding 10-12k for shipping from production to dealership. And 10k extra for decent original rims with winter tires.. 5k for different paints. Then 425k would fast become 450k... I will probably end up waiting atleast a year before highly considering to place an order. Need a new car now if starting in a new job, and will most likely keep that car for a year++ then.. I would also like to see the Subaru version in real life. But id really want the GT86s suspension... And I prefer Toyota dealerships.. Do not want to rush in to buy it.. although it would be nice to get it while its brand new!

Price
Here's some articles I found on prices.
http://www.dinside.no/891665/toyota-viser-oss-prisene http://www.hegnar.no/motor/article685800.ece But they both put the 450 000,- NOK, so I dont know yet. 400 000,- sounds more fair if we compare to other countries. :p I also prob wont by one the 1st year. And I prob wont be able to afford getting one 1st hand, since Im a full time student with part time job. Bleh. Yeah, the subaru blue looks awesome. Want that one too. And I think the Toyota TRD kit looks sexy! :p Throw it out here whenever you hear an updated approx price. ![]()

LOL.. I was going to post the link to "dinside" with the 450k price now. But Thorann beat me to it! :p
I find it strange that the magazines and online sites says about 450k but two different sales people at Jæger/Toyota Minde said 425k to me.

Import calculations
Sooooo, Ive been checking the import calculator from toll.no.
-> http://www.toll.no/templates_tad/reg...tax.aspx?id=79 And since the EU price will be 30000€,- EUROS it will be 450 000,- NOK approx. If I put in the exact numbers 454 000,- But, if the price will be 25000$ american dollars in the US for the BRZ, this one will be way cheaper to import. 350 000,- NOK. Im really getting so damn frustrated about these taxes. If I could get one for 30000,- € it would be in my garage at the release day. 220 000,- NOKish. |

Your numbers are not correct. Or, they are correct if you wish to pay double taxes.
![]() The car costs 30000 euro in Germany. They pay 19% tax, and we pay 25% + all the extra taxes for the engine.. If you were going to import a new car from Germany you would want to remove their tax first. 30000/1,19=25210 euro Put 25210 Euro into the calculator at toll.no and you would get your price. That would knock of near 50.000NOK on your calculation. Taking a trip and collecting the car would easily cost you 10k. Maybe you would calculate 20k for your time and effort and everything. Or, you could get in contact with a firm importing cars. They would probably get the car from Germany to your place for 20k. But, that would put you near 425k, wich means you saved somewhere between nothing to 25k depending on the sales price here and how much you get to haggle. Definitely not worth it consider the downsides of importing (the work behind it, generally lower resale value on import cars, maybe not having a proper 5 year warranty, having a local dealership in charge of everything) Personally, I would not consider importing it new... Atleast not frem EU. Maybe US. But having a Scion in Norway would be pretty lame.. :p So it would have to be a BRZ then. I think (not sure) you would only get 2 years warranty then. And not sure if that would work in EU at all! You could contact a "new/used car warranty firm" and get a (extended) warranty on it (like: http://www.carprotect.no/ ). You might save a couple of ten-thousands after all expenses. But still have the drawbacks of importing a the car. So, I would wait for the moment when you are into buying the car. Then do your best to haggle 8% at a local dealership. If you really can not live with the price, start checking into US import then! But if you have no clue at it. I would recommend finding a decent company that have experience importing US cars and let they fix everything for you. They could help you import it in your name for a fee. I would take a wild guess at 30k delivered. Lets say 40k for all import stuff including warranty to be on the safer side. That would be 390 NOK imported from the US. Personally, I would rather pay 391/414 NOK (425/450-8%) from a dealership. Would I pay 450k in Norway (60k more compared to US import?).. hmm.. not sure in that case... But seems like most US cars are sold with crappier summer tires (?) and without winter tires. Also, will the Norwegian model have some extra rust protection compared to the typical US car? When everything adds up. I will personally just stick to a local dealership. So much easier, and with less trouble at getting the car. And I would also sleep better at night having a local dealership with the full Norwegian warranty system behind it. |

First Norwegian review of the Subaru BRZ.
http://www.dinside.no/892231/pr%D8ve...t-subaru-brz#/ Score 5/6 Great handling++ Some parts of interior are on the "cheaper side" Some info and numbers from the review. I guess this is official numbers from Subaru now. "A turbocharged BRZ STI should arrive later on" 0-100 7,6 sek. (underestimated?) Mixed driving: 0,78 l/mil (0,71 l/mil Automatic) CO2: 181 g/km (164 g/km Automatic) 1239kg Kinda strage to see that much LOWER fuel consumtion on the automatic version.. |
