Aye it seems this was a bit too Apples vs. Oranges, but they acknowledged as much in the comparo. Reading through the comments makes me wonder why most people can't seem to get the idea of "it's the chassis/handling/feel, not the power" through their heads...

Well sure, but since the article goes on a bit to clarify the Twins win on overall driving satisfaction, and you seem to agree with me that the Twins are better as far as driving experience goes, I'm going to assume that's a slightly sarcastic reply
Not knocking the ST at all though, it seems to be a great FWD car. Different strokes and all that I guess. ETA-Correcting derpy spelling. |

I bet the twins win in a 2 meter dash every time due to weight. What a car wins at is completely dependent on what the test is. For some reason people think the most accurate measure of a car is how fast it can run in a straight line in a short stretch of space, like some kind of special Olympic sprint. How about they keep going in a straight line until they run out of gas, who's laughing now HAHAHA!

I'd like to see them do what Modified did with the Civic vs. FR-S and put them on equal tires, wheels, and coil-overs. I bet the BRZ would be able to turn a faster lap time then. Good ol' Prius tires...

I cross shopped them as well. Bought the BRZ in the end. I think they should have put comparable tires on the BRZ for this comparo. The Focus definitely had the tire adhesion advantage. That said, great comparo! |

Wow. These are the two cars I'm looking to replace my Miata with (or the Fiesta ST if it comes out anytime soon). Prius tires are a definite disadvantage for the BRZ. The review did hit on some points that I've read before about the ST having an artificial steering feel. I'm not sure I'd want to DD a car like that, but I'll just have to drive it myself to see.
