Going to be hard to say on a new car. A lot of insurance is based on medical claims, repair claims, theft rates, etc.. very hard to determine on a new car.

The car I'll trade in I currently pay ~115 a month for, it's old, a theft target from hell and a fair percentage of owners are idiots that can't drive.

My higher theft target version ironically costs me less to insure. Go figure that one out.

Those items are surcharges, insurance itself is based on the vehicle first and then surcharges for bad driving, location, etc get added.. You don't see it but the Insurance company associates risk numbers with cars which determines the base rate.

That being said, a "good, low-risk driver" won't pay much insurance even on a car like the WRX which has a high risk insurance rating.

Not necessarily. Accident rates/vehicle matter very much.

Woman I sorta know has a thing for GM muscle, and the money to indulge. The firebird is more expensive to insure than the corvette of a similar year, because people wreck the firebirds more.

And oh God does she indulge. latest gen z06, stingray vette, an older convertible, mid/late 90s vette, WS-6 Firebird, and a Formula 455 firebird.

you're an old man Dave, that's why you've got it so good.

as long as the teeny boppers stay away (which they probably won't), this car shouldn't be too bad especially considering it's not crazy powerful and it has four seats. as for me: zero tickets, two accidents (neither of which i was at fault) and yeh, that's pretty much it and i've been driving for ten years next year.

I don't think too many teens will drive this car initially, becausebof the low production numbers. It's like seeing teens driving an RX-8, you just don't see too many drive one. The insurance will probably be higher due to the BRZ's compact size.

Yet it should retain good crash rating with Subaru's reinforced ring shaped frame. Hopefully that will help.

well now. I pay 83/month through geico. last year when i was 24, i paid 108/month on the IS300.

I dont mind paying around 100-120/month if i have to. We'll just have to wait and see.

It seems the insurance would be higher for the BRZ than FRS, however do we know the number of each to be produced? Or rough estimate?
Also doesn't 2 door coupe raise insurance as opposed to 4 door Sedan?

No confirmed # for production. Just speculation.
