Just FYI for the heated seats, there is a new model for a buck less... It's still in the link, so just FYI for those that are gonna do a group buy effort, do the newer model...

Nice topic OP. I really like the link to the wheels/rims page. I haven't come across many websites that have such a clean inventory without all this pop-up in a new window deal. Thanks.
From the factory, things are often times easier to add than take away. Just think if this thing came loaded and was over 25k, the same complainers would complain about it being too expensive and talk about what they would remove. I would say Toyota/Scion made the right move here, to be bare bones as possible in today's car standards without compromising a 'modern' car. I'm all for the FRS, I'll get to decide what I'll do with it overtime. Financing a low 20k car will amount to more money saved over time versus financing a 25k+ car. Don't know about you guys, but in today's economy, this is the perfect car for any car enthusiast looking for a FR platform. |

That's the whole philosophy behind Scion... If people think they're gonna get a fully decked out Scion as the base model (only model) they're in for a surprise...
The other thing is, they're probably going to haggle when purchasing their first Scion... Oh boy... I would do one more link for the price complaint, but price complaint I'm in the camp of lol, lower the better! This is the reason for the whole thread... What isn't there now is NOT a problem... Is what IS there that I'm concerned with... Less the better! |

Don't understand why people complain on this car. Yeah, I'll probably removed badge or maybe not. Except for that, this is the only car that will give you chills at every corner for less than 30 000$... In these day, with 30 000$ you got the small cheap car but well equip. I work at a Chrysler dealer, and a well equip Fiat 500 is close to 30 000$... ( In Canada... ). This car is well equip, look damn great and it's a REAL sports car. I mean, this car is desing to have fun on the track. Why complain? + It's not even officialy released, that tunner begin to work on it. We've already see 2 TRD version and the Greddy one. Name a car, when it was not even release, that tuning parts already exist. I want this car so badly and I really don't understand why people complain about it. Anyway, next summer this thing will be in my driveway no matter what.

so that's why I had to post it the way I did...It became a pretty big task once I got a few of the links across, there was a reply where I posted where I wanted people to add more links of places they've safely shopped before as a future reference for ALL things people had made a complaint about so we all know where to go in the future for said items... However I never hit submit... I'm thinking Hachi is probably going to make a vendor's section when the car is released and need be... A few of the links are pure troll, but yeah for majority of people that don't know about modding or this is their first, I personally LOVE the VOLK stuff, and will one day own a set of TE37s... In bronze! The seats on the FR-S looks good enough (knowing Subaru they make good seats!) so I won't be looking for aftermarket, but I've used both Rearco and Bride, and prefer Rearco more because Brides are legit for racing... Those buckets were a pain for DD driving... Yeah, but since the thread kinda took another direction, I didn't bother posting asking for people to add more links... |

I've said in another thread, the engine bay was designed for engine swap so they didn't have to redo the mounts and stuff, I'm too lazy right now to find where the article was that said it, but I read it on this forum...
Engine swap is always neglected when people talk about power adders... This honestly is the most sensible way to do it... Factory boost and reliability... |

Lets talk about how epic the Scion brand is. #1 for reliability two years in a row! Audi, Porsche and Jaguar are the worst three. Welcome to reality!

I'm sure with most things, getting anything from simply an idea, to something that's massed produced as a consumer product is HARD to do. Just think of all the corporate legislation and meetings they had to go through just to get the gt86 a green light.
So yeah, now we have the 86, but in order to bring it into the US market at a feasible price, there had to be changes made on the US side (you have to consider cost was one of the main factors that attributed to killing off the japanese sports cars of the 90s). The 86 in japan and elsewhere will be more expensive, and more exclusive in terms of attainability, but i'm pretty sure that'll leave a lot of people (outside of the US) disappointed since they can't afford the car. Lots of people here blowing smoke and talking like they got all the cash in the world to throw around. I know I'm just an average joe highly anticipating to see the FRS at a dealership. |
