Not sure which car you're talking about but if it's the Scion, isn't that car a mostly prototype with horrible fitment issues on dash and other stuff? I think GT-86/BRZ from TMS is a better representation of the production cars. Those are still pre-production models though. I guess it depends on what part they decide to put in at mass production. All indications are that parts will be shared with new Impreza as much as possible.

That would suck if so, but I remember the tech manuals or something that someone translated saying both and the video looks like it's both.

Automobile's first drive of the BRZ says that the wheel is a tilt-and-telescope affair. I can't see that differing between the cars and packages...
"The steering wheel is adjustable for rake and reach, though even extended as far as it’ll go, it’s a long reach for long-legged drivers. And the pedals are spaced a bit too far for easy heel-and-toeing. Trunk space is meager, at 6.9 cubic feet, and Subaru made no mention of an available sunroof." |

Yep, so if the Scion doesn't have one (which we should believe since members here tried it at the reveal) than you can add another thing to the list of items the FR-S doesn't have.. that one is potentially annoying too since it directly involves the driver being able to enjoy/drive/fit in the car.

Woah, hold on a minute. that would be the STUPIDEST thing to change to lower cost. can anybody else corroborate that the scion version doesnt have telescopic steering wheel?

^^ see Poormans LFA post at the top of the second page.. not sure if anyone has confirmed though. He was there so I want to take his word for it that the Scion doesn't have that.
To be honest after I saw how the BRZ might be priced and equipped I thought about going Scion again but the lack of the telescopic wheel.. nah.. I guess some could consider that a luxury but frankly I like to have the car conform to me so I can comfortably drive, not the other way around.

Quik: that's the 86 not the frs. The guys here who went to the scion event tried it and claim that it does not telescope which either means they are wrong or that the scion lost that feature.

if it doesnt telescope i'll be disappointed but ive read a lot of reviews saying how small the steering wheel is. it might not even require telescoping

Not sure what 15mm less diameter will really help with there. I run smaller wheels in my cars than the 86s wheel and I didn't notice any difference in terms of ease of reach, etc.
