Any chance you could take a picture of the jammer mounting on your car?
Unfortunately I dont have any pictures of it mounted and I just removed the system (I had a used one temporarily, new one should be on sometime soon) but I used double sided tape and pressed them to the outside edges of the bottom of the mouth-guard.

Also whenever my shop installs these we put in a kill switch so the unit can be turned off quickly and without having to fiddle with the small power button on top of the controller. I highly recommend doing this also, especially since I noticed you(xjohnx) are in VA where we can get harassed for using these. For mine I moved my USB/Aux to the glovebox since I use an iPod that never leaves my car, and I put a switch where the USB/Aux was:

It has a surround around it now so it doesnt have any gaps and it is hardly noticeable to anyone who doesnt know its there.

Very nice. I'll definitely be installing a kill switch.

Do you have any experience with the STi-R Plus's "Quick Radar Deactivation" feature? Basically, from what i can tell they're marketing and selling the STi-R Plus as a gps enabled speed and red light camera database. There's apparently a key sequence that can be pressed that will deactivate the radar functionality until you connect your PC to the USB port on the STi-R Plus and re-enable it. Curious to see what your thoughts are on that feature.

Thanks again for the quick and thoughtful answers!

I mounted my Valentine One Conceiled Display on the top of the steering wheel shaft above loose fabric). It sits in perfect view and allows users to mute alerts..

@Flat Black VW -

I'm going to try to put it next to where the intake snorkel ends, or on top of the washer fluid reservoir which you can kind of see in these pictures:

Any reason to do one over the other?

Also, I think i decided on a good place to mount the kill switch. If you run your hand under the steering column you will feel a recess molded in the middle of the column (for the adjustment lever). It feels like you could get one in there fairly easily, while keeping it accessible but out of sight.

As for the display inside the clock panel, its definitely possible, however you will only have 2 places left for warning indicators. Ideally you will have the proper tools to cut the plastic (I didn't, and ended up using an old soldering iron and file to do this). Also, you might want to order a replacement clock from eBay first, just in case you want to keep your original.

You can move the LEDs the lazy way (pictured below), or use the actual SMD solder pads by wiring into the empty resister spots on the other side.

Make sure the hole you drill for the display wire aligns with the back of the clock harness

Finally, cut the rubber warning indicator cover accordingly, insert the display, and complete the clock. End result:

Hope this helps
