Here's a quick video of the lights in action.

They are Colin LED Sport Tail kit model ZC6 in smoke. They come in red, chrome or smoke. They're 27,000 yen or about $310 before international shipping. I received them in about a week.

The only caveat is that you have to swap the blue/white wires for it to work correctly with the US spec harness. I would test it before changing the wiring, of course.

I saw those this morning while I was bored looking at Ebay. I definitely like the look of them! Good choice. They are a lot brighter than I thought they would be. Keep us updated on how they hold up. Nice way to make that tail end unique. They would look good with the BRZ boomerang headlights.

Does the seller know that everyone is having to switch the wires to get the tails working?

Not that I know of. I'll see if I can find an email address or phone number for the manufacturer.

I emailed japanparts about a month back regarding the wiring. They spoke with Colin directly and were not aware of any wiring issues. I have yet to test mine out, but will modify the wiring as needed

I wonder if the red or chrome have the wiring issue as well. These look good but thinking about the chrome with a coat of duplicolor metal cast red on mine.

Hard to say for sure, but I believe they are all built by same manufacturer, so it's probably a safe bet. Beginning to see a trend with all the smoked Colins being pre-wired to the same configuration. I find it hard to believe they screwed up the wiring on all these tails by accident. Maybe they were intentionally wired this way ?? Nevertheless, it's simple snip, snip and problem solved!

I am starting to have an issue with these tails as well - same deal as the stockers, condensation after rain or washing. From what I can see, there simply isn't a good enough seal between the tail light housing and the body panel. I'm going to ask my dealership's parts department if they can find any part numbers for a tail light gasket or something, but knowing that even the aftermarket ones are doing it is concerning. I tightened them in the right order and to stock torque specs.

Thanks for the update Ninja!

I am very interested in these lights too (I also have an Asphalt) but before I pull the trigger I would like to see if you can solve the leaking issue.

I just brought my own car to the dealership yesterday (my OEM lights are leaking) to talk to the service manager and there doesn't appear to be a part number for a better gasket so they are replacing the lights in accordance to the service bulletin.

I'm guessing something will have to be fabricated. I wish I had the time to devote to this.

Keep us posted.

Will do. I have a sheet of 1/4" neoprene foam on the way and I already made a template of the stock gasket. Once I cut them out, apply some gasket silicone, install and test them, I'll let you know more. I posted the gasket template here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...sation&page=24
