I'm sorry but I don't see the logic behind that. I've been on rides where owners would have their 8K TT bikes secured to the roof w/out any issues.

I knew only one guy who used to lay down his bike in the inside of this car.

It is very normal to see BMW owners looking forward at the FT-86/BRZ. It is because BMW hasn't give the enthusiast what they were asking for after the M3 E30 ended. Is is already so many years we, BMW owners/fans, were waiting for the Z2, as small lightweight sports car / sports roadster, but till today, BMW hasn't even greenlighted it yet.

Working in the bike shop,
at least twice a year someone would come into the shop crying after he/she drove into their garage forgetting what is on top.

You may think your bike cannot be stolen from a top rack, but that is incorrect.

Bikes hanging off the back...........tailgaters get them.

In the car, safe secure, no problems.

I have been cycling road and mt. for 25 years.

BRZ = in the car for my bikes

Sorry, I had to laugh at the driving-into-their-garage part. You can't really blame technology when it's user error.

All of those issues seem to fall on the owner's behalf so I don't really see how the rack can be at fault or even a bad idea.

I've had 2 motorcycle stolen with one moto being less than 2 weeks old and only 688 miles on the odometer. I'm aware that bicycles can be a target for thieves when they are on the rack. My Felt was $3200 and even though it was on my Thule truck bed rack, I made sure it was within view and cabled locked.

Back on topic...

Looking at truck of the VLN FRS, what Jack Hollis mentioned and the Toyota training manual, fitting 4 wheels, a jack and your gear so a bike should be able to fit but damn it looks like a very tight fit.

I believe this car will meet your expectations based on what the overall goals that Toyota and Subaru have initially set; low cost, fun to drive, low cog in a FR compact.

I really wished they offered a hatch as oppose to a trunk but I would think a roof rack would be a better way to haul a road bike.
Get a CAAD10. Best riding entry level race bike hands down.

I agree. BMW's last fun cars were the facelifted 1st gen Z4, R53 MINI, and E46 ZHP. IMO the //M cars have been annoying and bloated feeling after the E39 //M5. BMW kept dropping the ball with the 3-er, totally screwed up the dynamics of the 1-er, stupified the Z4, and ruined the MINI [the new Coupe is by far the worst steering feel of all the MINIs, so disappointing].

IMO, BMW has abandoned the enthusiast in favor of the status-symbol clamoring douchebag.

To do some clamoring of my own, the BRZ/FR-S [so far] seem to be the just-practical-enough affordable sports car that no other automaker seems to "get" anymore.

There is a difference in weight. Weight has everything to do with "feel".

My car (2300-2400lbs) "feels" faster than my friends RAM 1500, even though he gets to 60 faster.

And who likes to go above 80mph anyways? haha

I love the twisties, and lightweight + just enough horsepower to get the rear end out = success. You can essentially be one with the car rather than the car being your limit, your skill will be!

I do agree with you though

Is that what you have? I saw a Pinarello FP2 for roughly the same price but it was 09/10 model. I'm not really a big fan of Shimanos and especially compared to SRAM, there's no contest; even compared to the Dura Ace set.

You couldn't be farther from the truth. I come from the BMW scene and the latest 3 series has been one of the best selling cars for 7 years straight, if not #1. The current M3 is iconic and will be the last N/A M car before it transitions to FI. Does anyone remember the early 2000s where BMW shoved a V8 into the E46 M3 and demolished literally everything in its class for 2 years until they banned it?

As of the new F chassis (BMW ran out of E designations), it looks nice but it's shying farther away from the ultimate driving machine. A lot of us don't like it. M cars are becoming overweight, BMW is spending more advertising on hybrids and the i3/i8 concept, which is BS. Even the M5 has engine noise plumbed in through it's stereo to make it sound better...what crock of shit is that?

from autocar

Should I buy one?

Despite this, at its best, the driving experience is a match for the likes of a Porsche Cayman, and accolades don’t come much higher than that. That it can’t reach those heights across as broad a range of conditions as the German-built car shouldn’t detract from its overall success, because the fact that it can even get close is a minor miracle

Oh WOW, it looks like I am a former BMW owner!

What if I'm a status-symbol clamoring douchebag who is also a driving enthusiast? Unfortunately, I think BMWs are ugly tho =P And Mercedes are worse.

What I'd love to see out of Europe are some Alfas. Maybe in 3 years we'll get some nice ones here in the US.

Sorry RRnold, I totally missed this post. No I have the CAAD9 as well as a SuperSix HiMod and a SystemSix. I love my Cannondales. I also agree about SRAM, that is all that I will ride.
