Maybe for Alaska? I've only seen the promo video from early this year that showed the BRZ driving through snow, otherwise I haven't seen a snow covered GT-86/BRZ/FR-S at all. Pretty weird-looking, right?

I shall! And thanks! Right now the car is getting window tint: 30% front, 20% rear. It's so dark around here and I get night-blindness easily. However, police have almost zero tolerance for window tint on import cars, especially Subarus at the moment. We'll see how long this lasts. On my WRX it was barely a month later before I got a ticket, then a month after that before I was pulled over again.

My 2008 Forester Sports XT had a bunch of tint and I never got harassed, even when there were local reports of an abductor picking up kids, and he drove a dark, newer wagon type of vehicle (my FSXT was Dark Gray Metallic)...

I never could get those kids to shut up... haha I kid! I kid!!

Anyways, as far as winterizing, I have the studded tires which work like crap on the ice, but had good grip today in the snow. I don't do engine block heaters or anything because I drive my cars a lot and Anchorage doesn't get THAT cold for that long. 300 miles north in the interior Fairbanks DOES get that cold, so it behooves them to use a block heater.

I really want to get the JDM underbody panels ASAP. Right now my priority is getting these Sparco RTT524 wheels from Tirerack. They're closing them out and they just dropped the price on them AGAIN, so after I set money aside for getting the windows tinted today I'm going to see if I can order the wheels and have them shipped to Seattle, my company's headquarters. I doubt I'll be able to get them until I get paid again in two weeks, but I'm going to try. I need to see how many they have left...

Tomorrow is the autostart.

Swapped back to summer wheels since it's supposed to not snow for a while. Just cold and dry.

Borrowed wheels.

Yeah. Getting my car so late in the year, I just had to take advantage of this cold, dry, sunny days we've been getting and will continue to get for a bit. LOVE IT!

I'm uploading some more pics right now and hopefully a video, too. I had a lot of fun with the BRZ tonight with Davin and Kyle. Hooligans! The stock WRX tires had to worn ones, which I wound up mounting both worn tires on one side, so when I attempted to drift in a certain direction the BRZ did NOT like it. In the opposite direction, though, it was smooth as heck. So in the parking lot we lifted the car and swapped the wheels so that the tires in good condition were in the rear. Now the car feels a lot more balanced. I've been having a lot of fun driving around with traction control off. I only use it on wide corners when no one's around me. RWD just feels so familiar to me! I miss it!

Yeah, the steelies were embarrassing to say the least. I got some snow tires now, though, for the stock wheels. When I have some money I'll have Paul/retraC Engineering mount the tires on the stock BRZ wheels and call it good.
