Hey EU members, with the ridiculous cost for purchasing your cars--I wanted to know if that included all of the other country tax as well? Or is it just the vehicle tax you guys have to deal with.

in italy we pay:

-"ownership tax" (called "bollo") calculated from hp and pollution class: for my z4 coupè i pay about 600 euro every year
- insurance : 1000/2000 euro every year

and now gasoline price is 1.60 euro/litre

I wonder why gas in US is so cheap? Me & my buddys used to drive across borders all the time to get gas. (--> from canada) even though It have gotten higher since 2008.

US insurance is also alot cheaper but u don't get crap covered.

If you put it in prespective that is 10% of the car's price. Yes a few thousand bucks make all the difference. To a Ferrari it makes no difference, but to a Scion, you are well on your way to another car with an extra 2k, or a new driver's insurance for a year.
