This post doesn't make a lot of sense to me, to be honest. More headroom is always good. Sonically, in a properly set up car audio system, 2 subs will very nearly always be better than one. There are obviously other negatives (space, weight, etc.), but "noise" quite simply isn't one of them.

Speakers (especially car speakers) almost always come in pairs. If you're sold a name brand with only a set for 1 side, I dare say you have grounds for complaint.

I paid around $630 for the pair of 3-way splits.

From many years of experience, one sub is always enough if you're looking to just compliment the main drivers. More then one is almost exclusively reserved for pissing of people you drive pass.

exactly... so when that neighbour complains that his sub/music is too loud... he can then turn it up to show them what is TRULY the meaning of loud and they will have nothing to complain about..

More than half of that cost is labour, but these guys do a very good job and it's supposed to take 3 days so I'm fine with that.
$2000+ in labour to install some audio gear!?!?!
Dude if you ever need to change a wheel, I'll do it for the low-low price of just $200.

That includes rebuilding the boot and the materials to do it. I'll give you a call next time I get a flat.

Here's a chart of the hole sizes.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1338904942

They are all suitable. The 70mm speaker *might* need an adapter since it's a bit small.

So the table says only two speaker types for the front - Front1 and Tweeter

and you are installing 3 pieces - 1 in the door, 2 in the dash

I think I gotta dig the AUDIO forum section deeper, cheers

I think they mean that "Subwoofer 1/2" are the door mounted speakers. (Even though they are clearly not subs.) But they don't look like they can fit 8-inchers.

I've been going with 6.5" in the doors. 3" and 1" in the dash.

From what i was told they actually are subwoofers. Just not ideal. Never tested out to see if it actually played music or just bass, but it did shake the hell out of the doors.
