Totally agree

Subaru have shown up the drivetrain/engine as thats what they've been primarily responsible for.

Toyota have shown up 4 different concepts (1st, G, 2nd & Scion) as they are mainly doing the body/syling/packaging.

They've always said the Subaru will essentially be the same body as the Toyota but with styling tweaks to differ it and bring it in line with the Subaru family.

So until Toyota reveal the finished article i'd be very surprised that we see anything of the finished Subaru - especially as the Subaru version is supposed to go on sale after the Toyota.

My money is on another 'drivetrain' concept from Subaru at this months show and both the Toyota and Subaru 'Road Going' finished cars being displayed in Tokyo at the end of this year.

Subaru makes horrible transmissions and their boxer engines aren't anything special, I don't know why people love Subaru so much.

Symmetrical AWD?
6spd and sport tuned suspension in STI?
Turbo friendly engine?
WTF?

Evo and STI have been rivals many years in rally world.
Both cars are better than each other in different ways.

Driven both, different generations, evo is always better. That's a fact, not opinion. But more than that, Subaru has low resale value and tend to break easily once you try to use it for what it was made to do.

Right, Evo handles better, but that damn bland interior doesn't do it for me.

Not like the STi interior is any better, hard plastic is the same no matter how you shape it.

At least it's more pleasant to my eyes. STI is also easier to live with, maybe it's just me.

The STi is more of a daily driver, more refined. The power is smoother, less noise, softer ride. It's like the grown up version of the Evo.

Not many people complain about the STI's 6spd. Subarus have pretty good resale. And any comparisons between its direct rival are often settled as a difference of preferences.

I hope subaru is more involved with the car/proto at this autoshow than ones past.

True. I really like everything about EVO X, but it hardly makes a good daily driver.

Maybe it's like everyone here said, Subaru will wait until last minute to show their work instead of teasing, teasing, and TEASING again and again.

Evo's are twitchy, STI is more stable. Also you essentially have 2 different crowds. Since it's a Mitsu it attracts (sorry) ghetto people, that want to strip them and build a monster Talon/Eclipse, Colt or Mirage. Subaru community may be a little elitist, but I'd take that over getting my car ganked when at the movies or associated with street racing. I've been to both vehicle specific meets. I prefer the Subaru styling, performance and culture.

Same goes for Scion vs Subaru. I rather be associated with Subaru, I love what the company stands for and the people who drive them vs Scion culture/owners. This has been talked about countless times though.

On that note, I love the EvoX it's more adult and refined looking. That design and the SST transmission won me over a bit.
