Unfortunately not yet. I sent photos and a description a week ago as they requested, and they haven't said anything since then.

The Grimmspeed dry-con looks extremely similar (the same?) to the AEM dryflow filter. I'm going to try the AEM and see if that fits correctly. Hopefully Grimmspeed will respond and let me return the faulty filter.

Wow that's terribly unfortunate that they haven't replied yet. I'm not sure why poor customer service experiences seem to be coming more commonplace these days.

I’d hate to think that they both use rebranded air filters but…

Most likely they make their own, but you never know these days

This isn't saying anything about Grimmspeed, because I've never dealt with them. But a lot of the time, people chase price vs service.

There are very few vendors on any of the platforms I've owned over the years that I would do business. The two platforms I've done the most with Miata's and BRZ's, I can think of maybe 7-8 vendors I would do business with between both platforms.

Who are the vendors you would do business with for this platform?

Grimmspeed finally responded and said they will send me a new filter to try, and a label to send back the one that wouldn't fit so they can examine it. I also bought a AEM dryflow so when it arrives I will see if that fits better. I have also seen several people use the HKS filter and that fit fine.

The new filter I received from Grimmspeed is the correct size. The original dry-con I was sent was longer than the stock filter, the AEM filter, and this current Grimmspeed filter. I have the AEM in now and I will try out the Grimmspeed also, but it should fit fine considering it has the same measurements as the others that fit. The other people who got a Grimmspeed dry-con that didn't fit the GR86 probably had the same problem as I did being sent a filter that was slightly too long.
