That’s why naca ducts there concern me. You’re not only feeding the hot air into them, you’re reducing/disrupting the low pressure air. Honestly, and this intuitively from someone who hasn’t been in a wind tunnel or even scientific field for two decades, that hood raises a lot of eyebrows.

Obviously, a flip will create more negative pressure, but it comes at the cost of drag.

I think I need air rushing to the coils, not removing more hot air.

Please note I said "extract efficiently," not "not work at all." Also not all cars have the same cooling arrangement. The way the air comes in, arrangement of the rads, and positioning of the ducts also has a large affect. From my own use, I can say that drag is negligible going off the speed at the end of a 1/2 mile straight.

If your goal is to cool the coils, maybe a naca over the coils and something below to deflect air over them may be something that would work better for you.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned updating to the 2016+ coils and engine wiring harness. That fixes most of the coil-pack issues.

BTW: Do you run brake ducts on the AP Endurance kit? I feel like it doesn't need it and I could have ducted those hoses to the coils. Also, what pads do you run? Ferodos last forever but they are very hard to modulate imo. And they're loud AF.

My problem is the coil packs popping.

So fix the problem not add more vents, or change a hood. Replace the engine harness & coil packs with the updated harness and coilpacks.

For the 2014 the updated engine harness part number (from Subaru) is: 24020AG080 and the coil packs are part number (from Subaru): 22433AA730

It's a useful mod, for the cost of a hood and new vents, this is probably a cheaper route to try first.

As far as brakes go, I've never run ducting, but I also am not a fan of the Ferodo pads, Cobalt Friction has been my Go-to for a few years.

Only way to fix this is to switch to the 2015 Style harness. The issue is in the harness and not the coil.

You can give them a shot but its the harness going into those adapters that needs to be fixed in order to make it 100% Good. There is another long thread about this very topic in this section.

Do you remember where it was or the subject? I tried a search but coil and harness are kind of generic.

So just replacing the harness and using 24020AG080 fixes it (and obviously, the updated coils).
