need to take the seat cover off, starting at the bottom. it's a plastic fold-over tab that slips into a locking channel. from there, it's like removing a skirt. just pull up

nope! the leather/fabric is attached with hog rings to the form-fitted foam piece, but it all comes away from the metal seat back in a complete piece with no tools.
probably easiest to remove the seatback from the car-- it could likely be done in the car, but dealing with the foam, and the leather/fabric cover would be like wrestling another large person while trying to do the work, and the cars not that large!

OK, small update, I managed to make the swap. This is the full list of needed parts:
Lock Ay Right-hand 64383CA011 Lock Ay Left-hand 64383CA001 Release Cable 64343CA040VH (I couldn't compare with the EU model, but probably not needed, the shape probably it's the same, there's just a red stripe) Release Cable 64343CA030VH (I couldn't compare with the EU model, but probably not needed, the shape probably it's the same, there's just a red stripe) Guide Knob 64343CA010VH 2 pieces (not needed, remove the red sticker on yours) Cap Rear Back Rest 64307CA000VH 4 pieces Item Strap 64388CA000VH 2 pieces Access Cover Screw 904500027 2 pieces The correct cutout is 8 cm from the latch cutout, 4 cm from the side, 20 mm long and 3 mm wide. Those who act as buttons in EU version, act as indicators on US one. They stick out when the seat is unlocked, that's why they have red stripes, while EU versions show the red when button is depressed. |
