I also have a liner in my car, it helps a bit too for longer trip, under the boot mat: https://www.carbuilders.com.au/mass-noise-liner. I think the "boominess" is just that exhaust note, you will never get rid of that note. Maybe just go back to the stock exhaust with your headers. Over here, a lot of the guys at the track don't bother with the catback as there is not much gain.

Thanks mate. Appreciate the feedback. It’s not horrific. I’m going to see how it goes for another couple of weeks (it is better with the hangers) and then possibly try a different resonator. At this stage I have stock headers, but would fit catted if I ever decided to change them. I’ll have a look at the boot liner, thanks.

A bit off topic, but why catted? Is this a restriction because you are in ACT? Catless Headers + E85 is the sweet spot for NA. Check out Steve's article if you haven't yet: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81493

I’d only change it for sound mate. Not looking for power, also not keen on a tune or removing cats (legalities / insurance). Considering actually having the stock header modified (by lengthening two pipes). That way I’ll retain the factory cat and not require a tune, but get a little of the boxer rumble. As I understand it the OEM 17+ header flows as well as the aftermarket Catted headers (which often still throw a code), so figure it’s the simplest way to get a bit of rumble. Still not certain I’ll bother though.
