I bought a ST XTA Suspension for 900$ CAN 2 years ago. Bought them without seeing them in person and was shipped via mail. I realize I was lucky it went well.

It's one of the best deal I've ever done. The car now is more confortable and more capable.

Half the price of a new set seems fair to me.

To me the Flex A's are a bit overkill his needs but at 1000$ they are a steal IMO

-lowering a tad bit for looks

-increasing comfort level

If it happens to let me zip into corners in a more planted/quicker way when I go on the backroad once every few months then that's a bonus but even at stock I am pretty happy with how the car handles.

I'm looking into the lowering springs but even those I see aren't super ideal supposedly because given the 80k kms my stock suspension has and springs just being there for looks, I might not get as good a value in the long run.
You'll get neither increased comfort nor increased wheel/tire clearance with lowering springs.

Wait and save till you can really get what you want, IMO.

for a street driven car with some camber 17x9 with a decent offset should be fine.

If you don't mind poking wheels and stretched tires, sure it'll fit, but the ride will still be degraded.

17X9 +38 with a 245/40 is stretched and poked ?

I had tight fit but most other people seem to not have a problem.

That's not stretched, but it'll also poke without camber, and most tires will be rubbing the spring perch.

I had no poke on that setup with lowering springs, all else stock. I did have some rub which a lot of people comment they don't have so

Most probably don't realize they're rubbing!

Camber bolts will be all you need if anything. Yellow spring plus stock dampers are a solid combo. Yes it will be a bit harsher but nothing like cheap coils or really bad lowering springs.

Camber bolts tilt the top of the wheel in, making the rubbing of the tire on the spring perch even worse.

And then camber plates will be needed if camber bolts don't work, in which case you're approaching the price range of just getting coilovers...
