Thats actually a classier move then I would do.

This post wouldn't exist otherwise. I simply wouldn't have left with the car if it was on my priorities list. Had I known what was waiting underneath, I might have had that at the top of my list, and would have waited.
I wanted this car under my ass NOW! LOL
Ah yes, going back and looking over, I'm sorry but I didn't quite catch that before I posted.

Anyways, 8 holes is crazy! Some owners have reported only 2 or 4 holes. There are only 4 holes in your license plate... so there should only be a maximum of 4 holes in your bumper.

Damn that's just fucked up. I swear some of the fools that work at the dealerships are fucking tards. Better off picking up cans and recycling em than working at a dealership.

No worries. the extra holes are to mount the big ass plastic bracket. If I get a chance over the weekend, I'll take some more pics of the whole assembly to provide a better overall picture.
While I'm at the dealership Sunday for that car show, I'll see if I can find out if there were instructions to cut the bumper like that.

If that's the case, I think this should be escalated to Toyota/Scion. That's way too invasive to mount a plate. Whomever designed that shouldn't be doing anything with cars, period...

Wow. That's epically messed up. My dealer mounted the plate bracket down in the black grille area, using only two holes.

I still have the license plate holder thing in my trunk. I think Ima get one of those where it requires no drilling.

When I ordered my Camaro and MINI, I told them not to drill any holes in the car for front tag mounts or any other reason. I had it written into the contract and I politely and firmly told them that I would decline delivery if the car deviated at all from what I ordered or if there was any damage/holes in the car.

I'm either the easiest sell a dealership will ever get or the most difficult depending on the circumstances. I know what I want. I order it. I wait on it to arrive. I pay for it. I take it home. Very simple and easy. Try to strongarm me into an automatic transmission, accepting some car off the lot, or compromising my spec list; I'll go to another dealership. I keep my cars for a long time and I work hard for my money, so I prefer to make my own choices about what I want.

I would ask them to swap bumper covers on the next car of the same color that comes in. If they refused, I'd buy a new bumper cover from a different parts department and install it.

Somebody would be willing to buy the old bumper cover with the tag mount still attached to recoup some of the cost.

I'm on the fence about whether I should even respond; Im equally as conflicted about which response. Ohh hell, I give both.

1. Are you insinuating that I did everything you wouldn't do because I'm some schmuck whom doesn't know any better? I could give a rats ass what you want or how you would do things. I chose this car after months long consideration, the license plate was of no concern to me.
That is, until I saw what was underneath. Two simple holes is usually what I would expect.
You sir, come off as a self absorbed jackass....

2. Cool story bro...

I'm feeling pretty good about the first one, the more I think about it.
