If you light some candles, dim the lights, turn on some smooth jazz, poor some champagne, and give your AN fitting a bath in thread sealant you might have a problem.

It's all upstream of the filter but janky work is janky.

It's upstream until you have a different application with a remote filter. Then you're just an underpaid toyota technician trying to rebuild boxer motors lol

Was not getting notifications for this, sorry. Pressurized the lines and the core as an assembly with about 200psi of air. Outdoor temp was around 80 I would guess. And I dunked them into a tank of water, no bubbles to be seen.


And they are leaking around the nut side, at the top where the nut articulates.

I actually have these installed, and I am still having issues with one fitting. Might have to bite the bullet and buy yet another fitting and seal.

Do not use PTFE tape

Just make them a little snug and allow the system to put pressure to them. After a few warm/cool cycles, make them a little more snug. I've even gotten Mishimoto AN fittings to hold this way

I have tried everything from just past snug, to way tighter than they should ever be and I get the same seeping every damn time.

I'd just replace the fittings. I use Phenix fittings for my stuff and don't have issues

In my case, the female side of the 12-AN fitting was bent together ever so slightly into an oval. I don't know if they are dropped in a step of the manufacturing process, piled together too deeply in a bin, or whatever. It's disappointing that it is so common. I'd gladly pay a premium for better quality control.

No dope or tape on AN fittings period. I have built hundreds and installed thousands of AN fitting hoses. If torqued correct they almost never leak. Yes on troublesome ones the conical seals help.
