I've managed to find the diffuser online, finally, this is exactly it:

Will be taking a picture of the hood underside tomorrow.

Yes even with more pictures, you still have the wrong hood.

But what hood is it? Everything I look up seems to have the lines. Including the BRZ.
Don’t really care but now I am curious as to what I am missing.

Is it possible it's an OEM hood that's been repaired/repainted at some point and they smoothed it out?

whatever body shop did the repaint possibly didn’t know any better and fixed the creases thinking they were damage. also I don’t see the a vin sticker on the hood, so it’s possible the hood was replaced with a reproduction that wasn’t a perfect duplicate.

It is an aftermarket hood. Not like a performance/vented hood but, aftermarket like non-oem, cheap reproduction panel hood. Think CertiFit/Diamond/LKQ... Car might have been wrecked and fixed on the cheap.

Thanks. I presumed that since all the OEM models seemed to have it but wasn't sure. Made no sense at all that some would and some wouldn't since it is common between them.

I Know.

Check for Bondo/work in that area. Possibly came from a car that did a good badge delete?

The hood IS the original one on the car, VIN stickers underneath it are not common practice on EU models. I've checked with a friend who has a BRZ and the underside of his hood looks exactly like mine. The most probable thing that's happened is the hood got dinged up and the body shop smoothed the whole thing out.

The hood is aluminum, would not take filling well and be far more labour intensive and costly than just replacing it if it was that bad.
On the other hand I have no more viable reason since this whole situation baffles me!

Yeah it is strange. But i was planning on replacing it anyway since it has hail damage. Already found one from a GT86 that looks pretty good, and it has the original creases !

The rear diffuser part looks like it's the nur spec/nur spec style diffuser. Since it is oem textured, I assume it is the real nur spec diffuser piece (it's a 3 piece rear lip kit but you only have the center section).
