the oem exedy kit includes a tob, clutch plate, and pressure plate for ~$220.
i dont think changing the flywheel is a must for the first clutch job.

i believe the first time you change your clutch, you can just pop in a new tob and a new (or slightly used) clutch plate. i believe the second time around doing a clutch, you do the pressure plate and flywheel as well. someone chime in bc i want to make sure thats not bad info.

so you probably paid for a clutch plate, tob, pressure plate, and new flywheel.

$900 for a dealership clutch job?
To some people that's a good price.
For people that actually done a clutch job on this car that's a major rip off.

Granted if you have the tools and place to work on your own car all you pay is price for parts. You don't need a lift or anything that special, although a tranny jack makes things easier

But eh, $900 to have it done with a dealership warranty eh I guess. It's your wallet.

If you can't do it yourself that price is fine. But there is no way that is the price of the parts, they are inflating the parts price to effectively charge you an installation fee. I installed an 'OEM clutch kit' in a friend's car and it did not feel the same as getting the OEM parts that I did in my car. If you are smart and check Toyota AND Subaru you can mix and match makes for about $300. Another $50 for the new throwout bearing and if you have had 2 bearings go on you the input shaft snout should be replaced for another $60. At the very least make sure that they are using the 2017+ throwout bearing that have the better grease.

Damn I wish some of the shitbox 86's we've worked on were that easy. I can almost always tell if a clutch was replaced by the damn cross threaded bolts when trying to remove the trans and the impact is just hammering away slowly to rip out all the metal lol
