It's running fine. It's running fine. It's running fine. Keep that thought in your head. It's running fine. Now go drive it and see if that feeling that something's off goes away. |

I have driven through some serious water. OP,I wouldn't worry about it at all. I know mine has been through more water. I drove through a 6" deep by 150 foot patch of water on my driveway every year for 6 years. One time it was soooo deep, I flooded my trucks floor. But that's a story for another time...

Steam came off the header heat shield, which gets very hot. Your intake is way up to roof level, so unless you drive into a pool, the chances of hydrolock are slim. If you get your alternator wet, just dry it off.

If driving through water harms the car in anyway then mine should have been toast after the second week I owned it.
It is a car and is meant to drive through all conditions including deep(ish) water. As long as you don't soak the electronics or suck a large amount in through the intake it is all good. Oh and LOL at all the cleaning procedures recommended for driving through a puddle even if it was "salty".

Ignorance is bliss, LOL.
Whether you live in the Florida Keys or Arizona desert, simple, inexpensive radiator cleaning will help assure safe engine operating temps and a/c efficiency. I do it to my vehicles annually or after a track day and include it with routine exterior detailing and maintenance just like replacing a dirty air filter that gets it's air supply from the front of the car too. You'll be surprised at the crap that comes out, especially from a low car. https://simplegreen.com/cleaning-tip...radiator-fins/ [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StxTeCl8Ihc[/ame] |

You got lucky.
You need to get a roof or A pillar mounted air snorkel for your car, you know like those SUV's that wade through water. Its the only way to ensure you will avoid hydrolock. On the plus side you'll also have the air coming in from outside the engine bay, so you know its pure cold air and you will get maximum power from it. |
