Really hope there will be a turbo version - Towards the end the (stock looking) supra seemed to pull away without any problem

you know, i can't believe that no one has gotten word from those testers yet. With the "social" world we live in i find it hard to believe those testers are sworn to secrecy under some act and have no family

I mean, sooner or later I want to hear "a word from one of the FT86 Testers and engineers has given some new information about the car" or at least, i hope ONE of them spills some beans on this. *hopes & dreams*

eh... the threat of legal action is a big deterrent to leaking info. I've had to sign a few non-disclosure agreements myself. A few of which I wish I hadn't, since the project collapsed and I can't use anything I worked on for that project on my demo-reel.

Have I told anyone anything about what I worked on? no. Not even my wife. The most I could say was/is "Its an animated family film that's a throwback to the golden age of science fiction" which is vague enough to not give away any real info. Kinda like what Toyota's doing with the 86- "it's a lightweight, RWD, entry level, sports car." It's specific enough to give you an idea, but not specific enough to get anyone in trouble.

The Supra will pull away and walk must cars with 200HP

now given the weight stays at 2700 you should only need around 250ish to match the Supra for 0-60 I would think

I don't think we will see anyone giving away any details this car is Toyotas hope for reviving their tuner fanbase and their sporty image they once had so I think its very hush hush

Yeah, a lil bit more than 250hp should do it at that weight.

A stock MkIV supra will still walk almost every car under $35k today, and on 1993 tyre technology too.

I like that the MKIV Supra appears to be the benchmark. While the FRS won't be as fast as the Supra on the straights, its light weight and new suspension should be able to catch it through the corners. And Subaru has been seen testing their version behind the STI. It's all very promising. From someone who's used to driving a car with very little horsepower, there's no greater joy than overtaking a bigger, faster car in a tight turn.

Has anyone else noticed the change in spoiler on the car at about 1 minute? It'sstill the same car due to the number plate being the same but just gets a massive spoiler when it goes on the track.

regards large
