Well then, that aside get quotes from a auto body shop. Find out how much it going to cost to fix it. Once you have a total try to get a personal loan. Or work out a payment plan with the auto body shop. Sometimes those heartless bastards can find you a "loan shark".

After that, pay the extra money for full coverage insurance.
Yea, that was so stupid.. I should have had full coverage insurance... thanks for the comment I might shop around few stores..

As for not starting, that's very common on these in front end wrecks. It USUALLY takes about 3 minutes to get them running again, more if you need to bend some stuff out of the way. These cars are VERY sensitive to MAF airflow.
Thanks Dave, I will PM you more pics in a few hours.

This thread is upsetting. Very expensive lesson. Good luck.

How did the other car end up? I feel sorry for those people. Hopefully you carried enough insurance for their medical and vehicle!

I know someone from long time ago (my first job) who drove a Mustang 5.0 foxbody. A bit of a crazy guy and his infamous quote was "insurance is to show the cops when you get stopped. I pay for minimum liability and no comprehensive. Saves me a bundle..."
As others said, a very sad post but on the upside it could be much worse if the OP does not have enough liability to cover the claims of the other drivers. Instead of being out of pocket for the cost the 2018 BRZ you could be bankrupt!

I had airbag deployment but no structural damage, just bent the crash beam. Insursnce paid out for the repair.

Good luck, that is gong to be a project to fix.
You've already heard it, but you need insurance for newer cars, auto body repairs are very expensive.

As for not starting, check the fuel cutoff control. It probably got shutoff in the accident.

If I were you, I'd see if you can get the engine to start because the outcome of that will greatly influence what your options are and it will be the cheapest/easiest thing to address. If you can get it to start, you'll be more encouraged to either fix the car yourself or it will be easier to sell it as-is to someone interested in fixing it and at least get a bit of your investment back. If you can't get it to start, I'd pull off everything of value and sell the rest for scrap. I see you have a PP so wheels if they are OK, BBK, coilovers, trunk lid, tail lights, will all have more value sold individually than to a scrap yard.

Hope it works out for you.

Getting it started will be easy I'm sure.

With a hit like that the intake is smashed. IF the MAF survived it just needs to be in the airflow and it'll start. We use a spare intake tube with a X cut into it and shove the MAF in, works every time.

Hate to be the one to say this, but too many folks owning brand new cars do not truly understand the cost of owning a car.

Just because you can make the monthly payments doesn't mean you should modify or skip out on other things. Just because the car is paid off doesn't mean you should reduce your insurance to liability only.

At the end of the day, insurance is there to help you get back to where you were before. If you do liability only, it means either 1) you are rich and can afford to throw away a car, or 2) this is not your primary car and you can afford to go without this car for an extended period of time.

I have liability only on 2 of the 3 cars I own, and both of those cars see about 5000 miles a year or less.

So are you rich then or just don't mind paying to fix them?
