It's clearly a fake video, was this on CNN? everyone knows an 86 doesn't have enough torque to break the rear end loose, even in the wet.

Clearly the only explanation to this video is 2 friends decided to swap cars, and the BRZ owner was in the Mustang, and the Mustang owner was driving the BRZ.

I am. Two summers ago we both even traded cars for a an hour to try them out. Neither crashed.

Your theory may still be invalid though since there was a perfectly good crowd that they drove past before hitting the pole. No self respecting Mustang driver would pass up a crowd.
