A couple of Nissan SR20 motors will but they'll pull a premium before Race Wars.

This made news in NZ all the way from the US so I thought you'd all be jumping on this. Sounds perfect for the 86.

Don't make me feel bad!

I'm selling my Nissan 200SX S15 that has the 250hp SR20DET engine in it. On the market this weekend for arrival of my 86 beginning Sept.

Perhaps I should sell the body and keep the engine for a swap.

As above I'd need the flux capacitor. Any on eBay???

Not sure I understand all the ^grief^ you are getting for this although it is amusing.

It actually is a reasonable question that I'm sure will get asked/answered down the road in a few years. Do we have confirmation no other engine fits the bolt pattern/etc for the transmission? It's really not that unusual that you can do this.

I know, for example, before I dumped it I was thinking of swapping of the blown V6 in my Chevy Astro for a small block V8 that was a direct plug in for the stock tranny (had to do a little work on the wiring harness and motor mounts but that was it).

wow i was hoping for some good info in this thread with factual information.. i don't wanna piss anyone off so i'll leave it at that.

somethings to note are whether the tranny bolts match up with subaru blocks from other engines, which alignment pegs line up, what sort of clutch components are required to match the engine's flywheel to the stock TL70 manual transmission, etc. i wouldn't be surprised if another subaru engine bolted directly on the stock tranny because i thought toyobaru had mentioned about making subaru engines being a straight-forward swap. this was a couple of years ago during the 86's development stages.

maybe it's a little too early for this thread as i'm sure 99% of the owner's aren't willing to pull their engines out to do a full comparison. for now we can only wait for someone bold enough to do this.

Oh, well, there is that... Guess I didn't look that close.

Normally I would think its about 3 or 4 years too early for this thread anyway but given a few folks are willing to pay over $1000 just to replace Scion badges around the car, I figured anything was possible.
