Step
1
First asses the location of where you will be picking your nose. How many cars are around? Will they see your nose being picked? Do you have tinted windows? You might want park around a corner so no one will see you.

Step
2
Try using your thumb and index finger to simply rub just the outside of the nose. This may loosen any precious findings your nose may be hiding.

Step
3
Pick your nose quickly, you can swiftly move your hand to your face and back down again. Don't spend too much time picking. Little short busts work better for disguising yourself.

Step
4
If you can't get away from the cars around you and you are questioned at a stop light, you might mention that your nose was itchy.

Don't pick your nose while driving, period.

I remember sitting in traffic and looking in my rearview, there was a good looking girl in the car behind me, next thing I know shes got her finger halfway up her nose! Then she proceeds to eat it!

Pick and Flick (Outside the car)

Better to get it out of your nose than let it irritate your sinuses, make you sneeze, and possibly cause an accident.

Don't pick your nose on a bumpy road. You are digging for emeralds, not ruby.

This is completely WRONG! Let me drop the science!

Step 1: Drive car to a well lit and highly populated Walmart parking lot. Procede to draw as much attention as possible by doing donuts and making as much noise as possible. (Make sure to drive everywhere in first gear and turn your stereo up all the way while talking loudly on the phone about douche-bag type things.)

Step 2: Using your thumb hold one side of your nose closed while also keeping your mouth shut and then blow as hard as possible. Ignore any mucus gold as though it does not exist.

Step 3: Now its time for the gold dinging to begin! Get up in that bitch and get you some nuggets. Do not stop until you can poke the back of your eye.

Step 4: Repeat Step 1 while holding all your precious nose gold. Then carefully put the burger icing (ie. stuff from Step 2) on your nose gold and start enjoying you findings. I recommend a glass of O'Douls to go with your delicious snack.

Step 5: If someone stops you or looks at you funny tell them you just got this new awesome car and you don't want to get it on your carpet. Make sure to ask if they would like some of your snack though because it is rude not to share.

I see a disturbing number of people picking while driving. It's incredibly troubling.

also, don't flick it out the window travelling at high speeds or when the wind is gusting inwards for obvious reasons.

Slightly off topic:

Several years ago I had the pleasure of dealing with a woman digging for gold while talking on the phone in her minivan. She had me trapped and started moving over into my lane.
When I looked at her, I could see she had a BT headset on, flapping her pie hole and one finger at what looked like two knuckles deep searching for treasure in the little pig snout of hers. I had nowhere to go but curb so I slammed on the brakes and she nearly took my right front bumper and fender out.
She got halfway into my lane, realized she'd drifted over and jerkorrected back into her lane right before the red light.
As we approached and then stopped at the red light, I was able to pull right next to her and roll down my window. She was now twisting that fat little digit like she was trying to widen the cavern to prepare for payload removal. I was literally crying I was laughing so hard.
I couldn't believe that fat little sausage link of a finger actually fit up there.
She must have felt the vibe and looked over at me. At that very moment, I don't know what possessed me, but I immediately stuck my finger in my bat cave and found gold. You know, that brain tickling spaghetti like treasure you always hope to find when you go spelunking. (Mind you, this all happened in just a few seconds)
I caught purchase and pulled that worm to almost 6" from my face when it finally let go, wrapping around my finger with a wet snap. I then flicked it out my window at her minivan. I didn't take aim, but it was perfect. It landed right on her drivers window, smack dab where her face was.

The look on her face of pure embarrassment, horror and disgust was one of the most amazing sites I've ever seen.
I peeled away snorting and laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. What a glorious day that was.
