You either buy a BRZ because you didn't want a Miata, or you bought it because you're daft and think it's something it's not... given the number of people whining about how it should have been this or that, this latter group is quite large.
Thats a pretty cool way to think about it. how "value" in this sense was equated to how the car will be enjoyed. This is usually contrary to the traditional car sales definition of "value" where value = more features on the brochure.

The twins really made some bumps on car history!

I think that most of the sports cars are more expensive. You get less of what you pay if you compare with the ones in other categories. They sell in much less quantities and somehow the manufacturer has to get back all the R&D expenses.

I've owned both and while the WRX is good bang for the buck... it is basically just an Impreza with a turbo. When you think about the WRX in these terms, it makes you wonder why the WRX isn't even cheaper than it already is.
The BRZ actually drives like a sports car and is more fun and engaging than the WRX. It's a one-off platform that doesn't follow the same 4 door body/AWD setup of all other Subarus.

I know that there is a diesel option in most models across the pond, but have never heard of a diesel Subaru.

Right?! unfortunately it's only a marketing campaign for Subaru USA so we only get info on the cars we get here. That is really neat though.

/return to WRX pricing conversation lol
