I took all my spare tire stuff out. Stuffed the trunk area with Roxul sound deadening material and replaced the cover! I'd rather just get towed somewhere to get the tire fixed/replaced and lose a couple hours of my day, than to have to wear the donut of shame.

I will advise that the fix a flat, though the can says t won't, it definitely can kill your TPMS. I used to work for AAA towing and can confirm that 50% of the people who tried this gunk ( and went flat anyway) who I towed lost that TPMS, could have also been from the vibration but I doubt it.

What percentage of those that did not try that gunk lose tpms?

0%, unless the wheel was off in the woods/snowbank/ down the mountain / in the garage of an unintended recipient / in another person's windshield

Interesting.

What percentage of those that tried the gunk would you estimate went flat due to some catastrophic collision?

Haha, the 50% I'm calculating were not stressed by any other situation. Only by having gone flat and being remedied by the fix-a-flat slime. I don't know how many of them were in freezing and below temperatures, which could have a significant impact. Maybe if it's 85 degrees it won't ruin the sensor, but if it's -15F it does, I'm honestly not sure. This was also 7-8 years ago

I reckon Canadians are smart enough to spot and/or realize when they have a low tire.

Like we used to be in the US.

You can thank Ford Explorer owners and Firestone for that one.

in Australia and some other places it is illegal to drive on different width tires.
So they could not put narrow space-saver tire in there.
When they put full size tire it sticks out a lot. Pretty much taking a lot of usable space.

Yet the Canadian FRS does have the system.

Tcoat, I wrote that eleven weeks ago and you're just now responding. What... slow day for you?
The funny thing is that they probably have a Subaru part number. It's explained in this short thread from 2017.

The thread was revived today and I hadn't read it before. I always got a chuckle that the lowly FRS had them but the BRZ didn't.
