I just want to add my experience with my current set of Pirelli P zero all season tires in stock size.
I don't like them, they feel twitchy and give me less conference in corners. They have a good tread rating and grip well in the wet, my advice is to avoid them, they are not as predictable as my previous MPS tires. |

By 'lazy' I mean it just didn't feel immediate when you're crusing or cornering. Almost like there's a second-delay between when you turn the steering wheel and when the car actually turns. It's the one annoying trait I just couldn't get over, besides the nanny issue. Compared to the Michelins, it felt 'numb' on center too. Read/watch some of the Tirerack reviews on the DWS 06, they say similar things. I watched the reviews before buying the DWS 06, I just didn't think it was going to feel as awful as it actually sounds.. until I drove on them myself. |

You'll probably be fine with summer tires in the Bay. I didn't have any problems stopping in cold and wet (~40-45F) on Falken Azeni 615 up here in Portland, and there really wasn't any legitimate reason for me to run on anything other than summer tires when I lived in the Bay.

Thanks for the input everyone. This is the reason I posted this thread to see what everyone has experienced and what tires I should run.
I had previously ran nitto nt555s on my other car and they hydroplaned a lot. |

I'd recommend spending a little more and get the A/S 3 as well. It excels in many areas, whereas some tires only excel in a few areas. Quiet enough on the road, excellent feel & grip in dry & wet, I've driven them through several hours of torrential rain with no problems. And I've even driven them in the snow a couple times. I wouldn't recommend a long distance drive in the snow with them, but I made it to work & home on an hour commute with light snow/ice on the road. They're on the stiff side going over bumps (relative to a tire with soft sidewalls), but nothing too jarring. They just feel more responsive on the road without feeling twitchy on the highway.

Super quiet for the commute. Like you don’t even hear ‘em at all! |

I don't believe this one bit. Just put mine on to get them heat cycled for a coming track day in a couple of weeks and I sound like a fucking lifted brodozer going down the freeway lol
