Never been a fan of the Audi but was intrigued by the Z. When I was having trouble finding and FR-S I thought about jumping ship and went to drive one. Wasn't impressed at all to be honest. For such a big engine it was still slow, handling was ok but no where near the balance of the FR-S. The interior was poor too and awkward. I don't understand why people criticize the FR-S interior, its nothing fancy but its ergonomically perfect.

Yawn. It beat, essentially, a FWD VW and an overly heavy Nissan.

Cheapest no option TT in the States (2.0T, AWD) stickers for $38.5k. Add $2k nav, $2-6k S-Line pkg, $2k leather, or other options and you're mid 40's. Compared to $25k for FRS.

The competition is stiff because they all have a hard-on for the FR-S.

I'm confused, a mid to low 13 second 103-105mph car is considered slow? To a FR-S customer no less. Really? I traded my 2007 WRX with sti turbo swap and full bolt ons/tune (went 12.7@106mph) for the Z and in stock form the Z felt much more stout.

Never heard much of any complains about the 370Z's interior from anyone before. Although, that is all personal taste. Most like clean and simple, some don't. It's all ice cream at that point.

I'm going to chalk your "unbiased" review up to trying to justify your purchase while trying to put another car clearly in another class down. Feels good, doesn't it?

370Z is too heavy for its size. Why is a 911 lighter than a 370Z?

The next Z needs to go 2.0 liter turbo 4 (low end), and 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 (high end). Nissan needs to embrace the turbo...Why does this sports car have a 3.7 liter V6 in it?
I'd imagine the 911 is lighter because it costs more than double the price of a Z...

It has the 3.7L v6 in it because it's *gasp* a good engine that makes great power and has a good powerband. Especially for a NA engine.

The Z may be a little on the heavy side, but people talk about them like they are a v6 challenger over here. For it's weight, it has more than enough power to get it up to speed quickly doesn't it? It definitely isn't a BAD handling car. Quite good actually.

Why would anybody buy the TT 2.0 AWD over a 370Z nismo?

Well I'd honestly be buying a 370Z if they wernt so damn expensive here.
A new one you're looking at $70,000 AUD. The 86 is $30k-35k. The cheapest second hand one (from 2008) is still more expensive than than a GTS 86.

You are being too harsh on K20A3... it's adequate for what it is, especially with a reflash

Whatever floats your boat. It feels no quicker than a 97 base neon IMO and is by far the worst part of my car.

On paper, the rear-wheel-drive, V6-engined Nissan has all the right ingredients to succeed in this test. Unfortunately its gruff engine, hefty weight and poorly controlled chassis let it down. Although it’s the fastest car here, it’s also the most expensive to buy and own.
Ouch.
