Did you get an alignment yet?
You know, running bald tires (your description) does not tell you a thing about alignment, good or bad.
It seems like you now have tread to amplify movements, where you did not have it before.
Tires and brakes are the most important features of your car, so get good ones!

Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 for just $5 more could have been a much better cheap tire. Is there a way you can return and replace?

Yes!!!

I bought Continental tires recently and they were super noisy and the little 'nodules' on the outside of new tires seemed to make the car 'floaty'...sound familiar?

I would take a week or two to wear them in and they should be ok. I would not touch alignment until you have done this. Give it time.

Yeah I think this is gonna be my plan of action. The tires are cheap, yes, but they have been around for a long time and get relatively good reviews. If it doesn't go away in a week or 2 I'll start saving again for something better.

If pressures are the same, this indicates something amiss. Do like I said, swap the rears left to right and see if pull likewise changes to right under gas and left when off the gas. If so, something is *definitely* wrong with at least one tire. And alignment won't fix it. If it's a bad tire, you should see about returning them all and getting at least a pro-rated refund, and replace with better tires.

Although that tire is a budget tire and probably has a really soft sidewall as well which isn't helping.
And it's pinched, making this effect worse.

Could be a lot of things OP, lots of good suggestions on what to chase down. I think a few hundred miles for the tires to break in is not unreasonable, but all the other things can be checked in the meantime. If you've checked everything and hit 1k miles and they still feel awful then I think you're stuck with what you've got.

Sidewalls are too soft.

Put another 5psi in them to firm them up and see if that works. Tires are the only thing that touches the ground and the single biggest factor that influences performance. Tires are the one thing you should never skimp on.

Hell, members routinely offer OEM wheels and tires for $300-$400.

Thanks everyone for all of the info and suggestions. So far I've checked to make sure wheels are mounted in the right direction, upped PSI of the tires to 38 and drove a bit over 100 miles and they feel a little better. I'm hoping this will just sort itself out with a good break in.

Does it still pull left on accel, right on decel? If it does and pressures are the same, swap rears left/right and see if the pull changes direction. If it does, bad tire, replace it. Or all 4 with a more appropriate make/model.

Also curious about the accel/decel pull. The only time I've had this I had the same model tire on the rear but each were made in a different country. Swapped sides to verify that the pull changed directions. Measured and one had a larger circumference.

Will take a look at this today and get the tape measure out. Thank you!

To clear any confusion, by "same model tire" I meant some Bridgestone S001 tires that I had, but one was made in Japan and the other was somewhere from Europe.

38psi? Too high for the vehicle weight, tire will wear in the centers
