These screens listed will all need an adapter kit because they are 180mm wide and the factory unit is 200mm

Are there any units that have a 200mm face?

i wouldnt worry abou that, they are all ISO DIN sized and designed so they all fit.
The alpine has a cage that mounts in first, then there is a trim ring around it.

My Lux has the same hole as these, my HU is an Alpine and it fits perfect.

My wifes Rav 4 has the same "wide" opening as the 86. When we put an aftermarket stereo in, we needed to use these adapters.

They look a bit average tbh.

If I was going to change the stereo in my 86, I would get someone to build me a nicer faceplate or replace the whole plastic piece on the dash.

If you have the money, i would go the Alpine unit http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=277
or the pioneer

I wouldn't even consider the Sony.
if you were going to go something a little cheaper, the Clarion unit is pretty good

Damn Fuddbutter. You're the man! Cheers for that. I'll check it out. If you have any other recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated!

I was quoted $2300 for the top line Eclipse, installed by dealer.

Give Marty from FHRX a call, tell him fuddbutter sent you, he should be able to look after you with something pretty decent.

I do sales, but only for door hardware haha, car audio is just a hobby/passion.
In Melb, give Sam or Brett from Phatt audio a call 9580 1282

i have known these guys for years, they are probably the best installers in Aust, they build all of Alpines demo cars, as well as the old Eclipse Tarago.
They used to sponsor me back in the day and there work is second to none!
