Wow.....I tried out my Low beams tonight, very bright....and I haven't even got the High beams working yet. I been having conflicting solutions, some say a resistor wont work while others say it will.

One thing I don't like about these lights is the fan noise, you can here it outside the engine, not that much of a problem as when you turn the lights off the fan shuts down.

I don't know if its just me, but the fact that the power draw is lower than the OEM lights for some reason has given a bit more power to the engine.......

Today I got sent a supposed CanBus Decoder for my car, but it didn't work. From the sticker of the Decoder it looks like its a non CanBus Decoder. I will have to re-order a new CanBus Decoder and wait a further 2 weeks grrrrrr.

This video clearly shows a CanBus Decoder working on a FRS

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHq-wuR3BR4&t=120s"]FRS- high power LED.. DRL high beems - YouTube[/ame]

Interestingly I tested on my Toyota 86 - one LED HIGH BEAM on the left hand side and one OEM Halogen on the right. You can see from the photo that the CanBus detects the 65 watts on the right Halogen Bulb and allows the power to go through.

How do you know its 36 Watts?

Stay Away from the light

I just got my CanBus Decoder today and tried it out, but it didn't work....I couldn't understand it...WHY WHY WHY.

I sat in my house and thought for a min, is the connector some how not contacting. Then when I was in my car tonight I thought hang on - Reverse the polarity LED are known for those issues. Then LIGHT UP THE NIGHT......BOOM it works
don't look into the light directly my eyes are still stinging

I'm blind!!!!!

Glad you got there in the end..

Did you need the CanBus or was it just the polarity on the globes was the issue?

New to the thread, grats on getting it workin, question. What is this actually doing with the leds? Are you literally just allowing the voltage change the leds directly, or is that box changing resistance or pwm to the leds?

Still waiting to see the cutoff of those LEDs against a wall. I'd put money on it being brighter simply because light is scattered as all hell, and the only thing you're doing is blinding other drivers.

Im sure I do need the CanBus , I really cannot stand take it off again, though if you go for the Night Eye LEDs you could always try.

In regards to blinding other drivers - the low beams are a jump in projection , so I did have to lower the adjustment of the beam, but its done electronically by a jog dial on the Toyota 86 intrament panel. The high beams do have a wide projection, so I dont think I be turning them on too often on the road, except down some country roads thats got practically no one around - The LEDs are a intense 6500k temperature LEDs. When I got time I find a wall to demonstrate the projection.

A CanBus decoder stores electricity in a capacitor and simulates the OEM power drain, thats why the car allows power.
