Just get the car you want. One article or forum post is meaningless. Trust in the warranty. When things go wrong you fix them. It's only a car and in my experience Subies are pretty good when taken care of. Plenty of forum posts about issues, but who knows what these people have done to their car. All cars have issues, some more expensive then others. You gotta pay to play. All I know is I have not had a payment of my 04 WRX in 8 years and it's still going strong. Took an 02 Acura TL to 196k with virtually no issues at all. Sold it and that car is still going. Maintenance and some luck helps.

Nope ours do not have that much info on them. Sort of interesting to learn that yours say that.

What the Japanese consider a quality problem the Europeans would consider character and charge more for it. Lol

Sounds like things started slipping not long after Toyota bought them.

Holding 16.5% of the shares does not really equal Toyota "buying" them.

Automotive News is a pretty legitimate source, as it's an actual publication directed toward industry insiders and not the general public. I work in the automotive aftermarket, and we (my colleagues and pretty much every counterpart at other companies I've met) are all subscribed to the publication and on their mailing list, and work with them routinely for press releases and product/business news.

That being said, as TCoat mentioned, there are a ton of bogus automotive news sites out there. Take everything with a big grain of salt until a manufacturer actually releases a statement.

My company is better than your company!!!!!

Ya, it wasn't the article that I was talking about in this case (I subscribe to the hardcopy as well) although they have got caught up in the rumour mill before. It was more the comments section. Anybody can make an account and comment and that is where you really need to be careful what you believe. Many of the older once reliable sites (i.e. Jalopnik) have gone down hill in credibility over the years since they are competing with so many clickbaits that they have to grab attention or die. It is also way to easy to look at some of the clickbaits and think they are OK.

Hey now, who bought whom?

Completely agree on all points there.

Stretching mfg capabilities in order to fill the pipeline will expose weaknesses. Happens to the best of em. My issues with my frs were more the result of me being an asshole, not flaws in the vehicle. Toyota stood by the product, despite knowing it was the victim of an asshole driver. Lol. Thank God it wasn't gm!
