I think you can definitely get all 3 of those in a package.
How about a list one, pick one scenario: FUN. I think that is exactly what the car will be when used for it's intended purpose. From what I have gathered, straight line speed is not it's intended purpose.

To be honest I just got tired of this question and acted like an asshole. I regret nothing.

If GM can get 300hp (with GM tune) out of their Cobalt SS LNF engine, I don't see why Subura couldn't in a cost effective way with the FT-86. Driving on a road course is certainly more fun then a drag strip, but even that is more fun with more power!

If they are going to be offering several versions of this car why not have different engine options as well?

Also, if this has been talked about 100x why are you still logging on? No one knows anything more about this car then what has already been discussed. Everything is pretty much speculation.

300 seems like its very achievable after mods and tuning. people need to stop complaining.

Do you think Miatas should have 300hp as well? Because this car will be more Miata and less Mustang 5.0.

Lmao, it was nothing to do with whats more like the next.

Lightweight cars with alot of horsepower tend to be fun ass hell, period. Some guys want N/A, some want a turbo. Toyota/Subie would be smart to offer both.

Like someone said, what else do we have to talk about until 4-20? You don't have to click on the thread if you don't want.

Plus this thread gives a place for people to talk about it instead of cluttering all the other threads with it.

So why not 400+ hp instead? I heard from somewhere that some model of Mitsubishi Evo have over 400 hp. I am sure that Toyota+Subaru > Mitsubishi so their sport car should more powerful than one from Mitsubishi, Right?

If Toyota does it right, they can make a Z competitor that gets almost 30mpg with 300hp, but anything above that is going to guzzle gas like any other performance car. It might be the top spec ft86, but it can be feasible.

Right now the 5.0 is less then 9lbs per hp. I would assume a 250hp FT-86 is good for lows 14s and low 15s with a 200hp engine. I personally think they should use a new Subaru engine with about 300hp and that doesn't break with simple mods like the current STI engine.

Let's hear your thoughts...

Now put the joke on the side, why do you think JDM Supra, R32~34, NSX, & few other sports car had a limited 280hp? Recent yrs, Japanese auto industry have been going crazy and putting out over 280hp cars out, but there's ridiculous amount of fee gotta pay to have over 280hp stock cars annually. If this car push over 280hp, I can guarantee you this car will put into Z, STI, Evo price range... now why you wanna bring dying high hp cars genre?

Weren't most of those car's (Skyline, Supra) hp actually underestimated by like 10-15%?
