Is it a very abrupt power increase at 3k? A new tune from a reputable tuner might be the solution. From my understanding the power delivery should be smooth, even though it is not a lot of power below 3k, but the build up of power should be smooth. But don't take my word for it, I would talk with a tuner to see if the cause is a limitation of the header or a poor tune.

It was very substantial. I no longer use that set up. With stock header, oft and Crawford power blocks I can drive all day at 4k and below. Slower ultimately but more drivable in normal situations. I installed header and tune in 2013. Common sense would.suggest that low rpm drivability has improved with more recent products and I imagine that my tune could've been tweaked to improve low rpm power but I never got around to that (long story).
