I have 5% rear with a cut out, and I highly recommend it.

I'm hoping they can have it over the edge of the light just a bit so that no light bleeds past the cut out into the cab.

So blocking as much light as possible is in my opinion worth the cost of me having to be a tad more vigilant at night while driving.

I added this on my FR-S, works great - love the homelink buttons for opening my garage door too.

The only gripe I have with mine is that it only works when the car is on and not a second longer. It really should be on the same circuit as the windows so it stays on long enough to close the garage door after you shut off the motor.

I have 20% on mine with no cutout, and the third brake light is pretty dim. I could have gotten it with a cutout, but I hate how that looks. I'll probably get a fourth brake light at some point.

Also, in Las Vegas 20% is not nearly dark enough. I'm debating going to 5 or 15%.

So very this. It's a pain, but I've learned to live with it.

If you want to keep the original third brake light and go 5% tint, then id cut a hole for the light output to be good. 5% would be hard for others to see the light output.
Otherwise you could remove the third brake light if you want to not have a cut out, and buy the fourth brake light from Modbargains.
Personally i like the look of the original third light gone and adding the fourth brake light. Although it would depend on how strict the law enforcement is in your area.

There is also a high-mounted third brake light from a mustang.

So I dropped the car off and the installer came out to do a walk around and asked me about doing the cut out. He mentioned it was totally possible and he has done it in several cars, but doesn't recommend it. He said the eye is instantly drawn to it and no mater how good the overlap is there will always be light bleed around it. Every time he did it for someone, within a max of two days they were back having the window redone. So It looks like I'll go with the 4th break light and maybe even wire in the this to it just to make it a little more visible.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I'll update the first post with pics once I get her back.

If you are going with the 4th brake light option, here's a few things to look over. I just did the 4th brake light mod to the OEM light assembly and a week later installed the Valenti 4th brake with a mod to not have it blink while braking. Enjoy!
