LOL. You should see what's under his hood.

Oh, I see now, looking at your posts....seems you've added something under the hood of the car....well, still worth a try for warranty.

He has a supercharger, I'd love to see a dealership warranty that.....they won't if they want to keep their franchise.

Thinking it might be axle.

Anyone have a guide to replace them/tips/plan of attack?

Axle? Doubt it. If there is nothing then you are not getting power to the diff. Does it change tones when you shift and just not move? If an axle the diff should scream like a banshee if it is being powered. Besides the odds against having both axles go at the precisely the same moment are incredible.

I did think it was the trans letting go so I had it in 6th and revved it up and the rear end did squeal, now that you mention it. I'll try it again tomorrow, but in first. Just give it some gas? Wheels won't move at all.

Late night guess...Quite possibly wrong....but the inner cv joint could easily break on just one axle. The inner cv joint most always being the weaker of the cv joints.

Edit: 11:48pm PDT....after reading this about helical and Torsen differentials:

"Locking on throttle but requires both wheels to be on the ground"... from here:

http://www.trak-life.com/basic-intro...erentials-lsd/

So if one axle or cv joint is broken, it's as if the wheel/tire on that side of the car is 'off the ground'

And if the inner cv joint broke, chances are real good... it also tore open that axle boot (rubber).

That was my thought. And per several different shops in the area and friends who broke axles, if one breaks the car is dead to the water. I'll check it in the morning.

Best to check with others in the suspension section of this forum... if axle needs replacement. Not sure, me, what minimal parts of rear suspension need to come off to get outer end of an axle out. Surely most anyone would need at least a 1/2" air impact wrench with proper socket to easily get the axle nut off end of axle. The inner cv joint would surely just pop out of diff with a pry bar. It's typically held in with an exterior snap ring.
Inner cv joint may be available separately, as a part, rather than purchasing entire axle assembly ??

If you can't get the car in the air, arrange a mirror that let's you see the drive shaft. Put it in 5th start the engine and release the clutch. If the drive shaft spins and the wheels don't it's in the rear end. If the DS doesn't spin it's the clutch.

How dafuq you already break an axle?

Ugh I'm probably next.

As a side note, I hope they didn't cut corners for 2016's axles... I mean I know they're shitty in the first place but that was stupid fast dude.
