Damn. If I'm going to do 100s of hours of research I may as well just give my project the green light.

Re-gear, header, and tune. Probably after sorting anything tired/worn out (dampers, bushings, etc.) and throwing on a set of pilot ss. I'd spend a few bucks on an sti gurney flap, a pair of Tom's a set of sti springs if there was money left and I had to blow it.

"Capable car out the box" and similar comments - whilst I do agree... is missing the point.
Personally I'd go headers, SC and tyres (wheels too if you can stretch) - then drive it and have fun. AutoX/track days etc are fun... but even more fun with more power

I rate rally drivers (generally) as some of the best in the world! Handling a car like they do - right on the ragged edge - just screams "mad skills" more than most other forms of motorsport! OP - this is a good idea

Assuming I'm "required" to spend it on the car
Edelbrock Supercharger Louvers Hood Respray or replacement That should pretty well eat up $10K quickly.

If not interested in track days:
- JRSC/Edelbrock SC + tune + oil cooler - 245 Michelin PSS / 17x9 wheels of your choice - Carbotech XP8 Brake Pads - RCE T0 coilovers + alignment
