It was significantly cheaper than a 2015, babied by the former owner, and a no-brainer for me. The only concern is yes, it's an AT and not an MT, which I was previously looking at, but I went ahead and test drove it and honestly fell in love with the paddles. Sure, they're not going to be as fast as a double-clutch Audi or anything like that, but given that I often drive in bumper to bumper SF Bay Area commute traffic, it IS nice to very occasionally be able to put it into automatic and ignore it (though 99.9999999% of the time, I never take it out of manual).

For me, it was worth having a little bit of miles on it to be picking up a car with all the Monogram features AND an aftermarket performance exhaust for less money than a new 2015, but I got very lucky and that's not always the case.

Buying used isn't always bad. Buying new isn't always good. In the end, do your research and your homework and weigh the pros and cons of both the cars you're looking at and decide which one you really want and what may cost you more in the long run. Sometimes, saving a little money now means dropping more money into it later as you find things you may not like or may go wrong. Choose wisely, and buyer beware.

Only you can really know which one is the right one for you.
Honestly, very very nice post

I bought a used one from toyota certified,, 2013 10 series, 19000 miles.
Looks new to me, and planning to keep it for a long run unless they have sti version.

It really depends on you and your budget, basically its the same car, but if you like the features like push button, dual a/c, jdm headlight. go for a used monogram because its cheap now.

I would have preferred a Monogram with the keyless start since I had that on my last 3 cars and loved it but they did not have them in Lava in Canada. Since I can not tolerate white or black cars (for me to own not others) I gave up convenience for colour. Don't regret it for one minute either.

I do so love my HIDs. I also like how I can adjust the height of them. I think my husband is jealous.

I was in this boat and wound up with a BRZ limited. All the cool stuff is worth it. I wouldn't even bother with a new 2016 if it didn't have the options. The dual digital climate alone makes the interior much nicer.

I bought my monogram privately with quite a few miles for it only being a year old. 22k miles in July '15th. Now I'm going on 34k as of today. I specifically looked for a white monogram. Buying new was an option but I wanted the best I could get in an FR-S and in white. I plan on keeping it forever. Despite it not being new and worn in. I got exactly what I wanted so I'm very happy with it. As far as any potentially useful advice goes is, get what you want and you think you will be most pleased with.

I looked at 2016's before I bought my Monogram but decided it was either a clean Monogram or a BRZ Limited. Honestly the extra features are worth more to me than what the cost new. Also I like that I saved almost 30% off a new Monogram!

Buy the FR-S over the BRZ. You will now pocess something of a exstinct breed.
