As long as it's better than my current car, IS250, which is 20mpg in the city.

I'm thinking it would do better then 33 maybe a little more on highway because of its weight aerodynamics... Much better engine then the others in the examples and by better I mean newer sorry lol meaning back then those cars were made more twards hp and performance but now days car companies almost all of them even Ferrari think about fuel efficiency. And I think it will do better in city driving also mid to high 20s

Still even if the EPA rating is 33 you'll see more in reality.

Im goin to b running it catless for sure with most likely Hks or greddy exhaust I'm sure one of those 2 will come out with an amazing exhaust system+ intake with a nice tune should get a lot better mpgs plus a little tq and hp. But very true Dave the low tq hopefully it won't have horrible gear rations.

For some perspective on another N/A DI 4 cyl making 200ish HP, the 2.4L Hyundai Sonata gets 24/33 (24/35 in the Kia Optima). The FT86 is lighter, probably more aerodynamic and the engine is smaller. I'm betting that Toyota can match or beat that.

It all depends on gearing and tire size. I can guarantee that while the FT-86 will be fuel efficient, because the final drive and gear ratios will be geared for performance, it won't be an EPA darling.
