If you do just the catback and not planning further upgrades of the exhaust - go 2.5'' unresonated. I had one - sounds just perfect when alone. Probably the most balanced and best sounding catback on the market. If you are planning upgrading the rest of the exhaust - take the resonated 2.5''. That's what I did after installing the headers, OP and FT - replaced the mid-pipe to a resonated one.
No any meaningful reason to add weight, rasp and loudness of the 3'' version (and pay more) if you are not planning turbo build with 325-350+ whp. |

2.5" unresonated CBE vs. 2.5 resonated CBE + header + OP + FP Is it much louder with all the additional exhaust mods? Thanks!

All in all maybe 10-20% louder than undersonated catback alone but the pattern of sounds is more... rich maybe. If it was about sound only - I'd keep the Perrin unresonated CBE. |

JDL UEL Header chrome coated and Nameless FP/OP combo with Helmholtz resonator. However, already ordered Motiv OP and FP as the Nameless combo touches the engine block (0 clearance) and I tend to believe that some of those "metallic" sounds are due to this fitment issue.

I have a 2.5 non-resonator with catless front pipe from Invidia. I still think that it is not loud enough. I just pressed an order for Borla UEL. Hoping that it will be louder.

I have a 2.5 with Perrin fp/op combo with resonated midpip. Stock header. Best way to put it. Loud when you want it. Quiet when you need it. Cold starts are loud as hell tho. I always put off an alarm if I'm parked in a garage.

Also do you still have that same catback? Curious what you think after a couple years. |
