Everything in the the is screaming uniqueness. Love everything, and hope they will to change too much when they translate it into production.

Too ridiculous for TRON, even.
Said they.....

"Toyota's first try at a super car steering wheel is mighty impressive. Its form is purely motorsport-derived, and in much the same vein as the Superveloce, it's focused on providing the driver with an uninhibited and efficient means to control the high-tech beast below. Carbon fiber, aluminum, and small bits of leather comprise the unit. In other words, it's the winning formula for a masterpiece steering wheel."

I'd agree. If you think about the tech and design thought that went into making it, that alone would merit it's place on the list.

The question is, should Toyota consider using that steering wheel in production car?

Hmmmmm

I hate to say it but the LF-A has the ugliest wheel out of them.

And the one 77 interior is pure sex.

I think it is better looking that the R8, M3 and the SLS steering. The Aston is a winner though (And it better be at $1 million +)

You make a very good point, sir. However, I feel that MotorTrend's opinions are contradicting. First, they label the article as top 10 "Coolest" wheels... Not "performance" wheels! This leaves their qualifying factors up to some pretty broad interpretation. Even so, I do feel that an excellent performing wheel combined with exotic materials/craftsmanship makes it "cool," even if it looks dumb. Yet what I don't agree with MT is that they put the FT-86 wheel in there, even though they've never even touched it - meaning that their reasoning is purely based upon aesthetics for that wheel, when for the rest of the wheels they consistently use performance oriented expressions.

That being said, I must clarify my point.

I feel like Motortrend contradicts themselves in this article. In fact, I feel like Motortrend also contradicts themselves, in addition to making stupid/incorrect references, in ALL of their magazines that I have received (and continue to receive). In the end, I think Motortrend is full of a bunch of morons. But I still like to read it....sometimes. Hah.

I still feel Evo 9 has one of the coolest raw interior ever.

Steering wheel, Alluminum Shift knob (MR model), Base of the shift knob (the circle thing), Recaro Seats.

Most of the major touch points

I totally agree. What's the point of having a concept vehicle and have all bland looking. It's the fine amount of detail that helps make this car what it is, this stage of the game.

I hate that too. I hope they put them on the door. I often catch myself fishing for the doors when I ride in my buddy's bimmer.

In MB too, LMAO.

Like many mentioned before, the interior should be driver focused. I like the way of the design right now, hope they keep that clean dashboard and no Zippy for me. I also want a lightweight audio system.

Majority of the German cars are like that, Audi, MB, BMW etc and it drives me nuts.

I don't understand the YKK zipper thing either!? It looks like a plan b... oh shit move. I don't know about the white leather accents but other than that, the interior looks very good.

I like the concept wheel, but the round hub in the center seems awkward. I'd still like to see it in the final version, or atleast something really close.

Look, there aren't any volume control buttons on the OEM wheel. I think I'm gonna have to replace that OEM steering wheel with an aftermarket one lol, not really digging it..
