For readiness monitors. 2000-newer cars only EVAP monitor can be incomplete for car to pass. 1999-older only 1 monitor can be incomplete for car to pass. either monitor is fine. Some counties dont require dyno test which are areas that have only basic testing and not advance testing. Major cities are advance testing which we use dynos. But since the Smog program changed in the summer its completely different. How do I know this. I am a smog tech that has a shop. thats all |

Wow, no wonder you're resourceful. That's cool that you own smog shop.

Aren't newer cars smog exempt for like 5 years? So like a 2013 would be good until 18/19 just pay registration and abatement fee?

Lemme clarify this....well, see if I understood right.
On our twins we no longer have emission (tube in car exhaust) part for smog?

So everything posted on http://smogcheck.ca.gov/ is false?
Edit: I am not doubting what you are saying. The last two times I've had to smog any car, both have involved tailpipe testing on a roller dyno. Both were within the last 4 years. -alex Last edited by mav1178; 10-26-2015 at 11:57 AM. |

I recently smogged our 09 mazda3 and it was able to pass with a non-CARB aftermarket second cat. Maybe its because it looked stock or the place I went to didn't do visual check.
Wondering if the Berk Hi-flow cat on the BRZ will pass? Anyone try yet? |
