Oh and one more thing when buying coilovers, if you are intending to slam the car, you’re going to need a diff riser. Too many people are snapping rear axles because of the newfound angle. It’s not ideal, and you don’t want to damage the diff. Something to think about, you can’t just lower the car and get away with it. If you’re running stock power I suppose it is not as necessary as someone that’s boosted theirs.
Slightly off topic, if you’re wanting the car lowered for track or for better handling around fast bends, you’re going to need an upgraded fuel pump. If you’re left hand drive and go around a right hand bend, all the fuel pushes to one side under the g force and creates fuel starvation. AEM make an upgraded fuel pump system that keeps the fuel in the basket for longer, however requires a bit of soldering. On the ft86 website they sell the kit that has already been connect so you can just plug it together instead. If you’re around 80k miles, you’re going to need a new fuel pump anyways, so may as well upgrade it. |

I'm thinking Moton, JRZ, 959Racing, Penske, Öhlins, MCS, Nitron might beg to differ.

Mmmmm... I find this comment interesting. Firstly you make a global statement. There is no mention of tyres used, duration of cornering or sustained g loading. When I tracked my car I have used Kuhmo V70A, Kuhmo V710 and Hankook Z214. These are all motorsport tyres and only the V70A is street legal. I never suffered from fuel starvation. I'm not suggesting you have not suffered from fuel starvation only that lowering a car and driving "around fast bends" (what ever that means) does not automatically lead to starvation.

Well I’m right hand drive and I don’t track my car, but it is very common. I have never suffered from it either, but lowering your car allows for lower centre of gravity, and therefore a more stable car and therefore you can produce an even larger g force whilst going round a bend, so ultimately more fuel is placed on one side of the tank. So that’s where my thought process is. I haven’t suffered from it, but it is a common problem, ft86 have even uploaded a video about it and how to replace it. Just something to be wary of I suppose, I’m due a replacement anytime now, so that’ll be what I’m doing. |

hahahahahahaha the first response is BC. wonderful. i guess this car is the new rwd civic.
to OP. do some actual research about what goes into the suspension. don't just buy them because they're cheap or "good enough"... Ground Control, Bilstein, Ohlins, shit at THE VERY LEAST if you're looking at BCs, do yourself a favor and get fortune auto... sheeeesh.

I bought cheap coilovers and wish I hadn't. The compromise is just not worth the savings

I've never experienced fuel cut either though I am only running Z3's. Even on a long left with a dip in it, have never had it happen. |

I have 140k on my fuel pump and no issues. These aren’t BMWs where the fuel pump fails at 100k like clockwork. |

BC utilizes a 46mm piston with a 12mm center bore at about .5" thick, like some other popular brands. Nobody would stop you from shoving an Ohlins or Bilstein piston and valving in a BC cartridge. Know what I mean? lol
As far as the reliability of the components go, I think there are enough out there to vouch for them. People beat the shit out of them, hellaslamming dragging them around car meets and getting stuck in driveways. The main issue is QC and the quality and consistency of the valving, which is probably not great but not quite as bad as many make them out to be.

This. I was testing out the Track Mode retrofit and tried to do a burn out with track mode activated. It would let it spin a bit while pulsing the brakes making it hop up and down.
