People have been writing this as far back as we've been able to find.

Quote:
But if you follow the fashions of the day, you will be pallid in hue, have narrow shoulders, a narrow chest, a long tongue, small hips and a big thing; you will know how to spin forth long winded arguments on law. You will be persuaded to regard as splendid everything that is shameful and as shameful everything that is honorable; you will wallow in degeneracy like Antimachus.
Aristophanes, 419 B.C.

To the OP, job hopping is the only thing you can do. It's modern Western business practice, gone are the days of unions and blue collar jobs being able to afford a family, a gold watch after 50 years with a decent pension, especially in a metropolitan area, any of them, whether it's New York or Georgia.

As for people telling him to move out of the big city, he's in San Jose (hence, San Ho), probably one of the cheapest places to live in the greater SF Bay Area without having a 2 hour long commute, one way.

Telling someone to move from where they grew up, where all their family and friends are is hard, what percentage of people you know uprooted their life? 40%? 60%?

I want out of this rat race too, but that means not being able to see my family as often, go autocrossing with some of the best people in the country, drive world class tracks, work on cool shit, and enjoy this awesome weather. It's a tough call, and anybody who disagrees I will gladly call a joyless automaton.

To the OP, I bought this car because after college I lived with my parents for a year, I was saving $1k+ on rent (I told them I would pay whatever they wanted me to pay, and they were very generous) and I had an hour long commute one way to an aerospace job, and I was living with my parents. I moved out when I knew I could pay off the car in a year and had 6+ months expenses in savings. 3 years later expenses caught up with salary and aside from company matching 401k I'm not putting anything significant away, time to job hunt.

Edit: I bought a 2 lb bag of coffee on Amazon for $25 a few months back, it's holding me over pretty well. I should be able to get at least 80 cups of coffee out of it so that's ~31 cents per cup. Isn't Philz like $6 for a cup or something crazy?

This is not generally the preferred way, but it is a way that many have found to do it.

1. Find something that is normally free.
2. Package it.
3. Brand it.
4. Market it using people willing disseminate your propaganda for free.
5. Distribute it using a free or cheap source.
6. Profit.

Examples...
Water, weather, exercise, nature, self-confidence, sex, culture, dancing, a view (e.g. a cute dog/cat, a hot model, military equipment, etc.), information (e.g. a location, a recipe, a language, a melody, the description of any experience, expertise in performing an action, etc.)

This is how you do it boy

I took it more as support for my hooking suggestion than a repeat of it!

OP only has a month to do it, legalization is on the ballot in 3 weeks.

But yeah the kids rolling around in high end cars dressed like thugs certainly aren't riding high off an IPO even around here... But they aren't living the good life for long.

Just a joke because OP likes blunts. I was not at all serious. I thought that was made obvious by the wording I chose.

I live in Oregon. Weed is legal here.

TJ's provisions is a local dispensary in my area. They are Profitable to say the least.

Blunts and Coffee, IMO, is a great name for a coffee shop. (it would play well to the demographic in Eugene)

The Weed game has tons of hoops to jump through, but there is also tons of LEGAL money to be made.
