and I expect the same for the FR-S / BRZ within 3 years time.

My only piff is that I would want to own one within the next 12 months or so.
I so WANT.. but my better judgement tells me to wait till the STORM blows over.

The BRZ is not in limited production. 450 units a month is not limited production. It will be about the same or maybe 550 units per month for the FR-S. And we are only talking North American units.

Don't fall for the dealer markup trap. Sure you will probably never see a BRZ sitting on the lot waiting to be sold...oh wait we don't even have pricing yet....there might be BRZ's sitting on the lots waiting to be sold....because the pricing might be too high...same could happen for the FR-S.

I was talking with my dad at breakfast this morning, he's a sales representative.

Whenever a new car comes out, either a brand new model or a redesigned model, they do this regional conference thing where they learn about the car, and test drive it. They haven't even done one with the Prius C yet.

That said, my dad's manager said that they won't be doing the FR-S demos until some time in May. And I'll know when he does the conference things, because he gives me all the freebies, like the brochures, keychains, t-shirts. When the 2nd gen tC came out last year, Scion held that sales demo thing collectively with all other Scion models of 2011.

He already has a customer who put his name on the list for an FR-S, a previous customer who is planning on trading their Scion tC in. Apparently, the FR-S could cost about 10Grand more than a new tC.

Subsequently, He stated that Toyota disclosed an approximate price to the manager of the dealership. It's still not the official price, but it's just given to give an estimate. Starting at base 24,9XX for a Manual, and an Automatic with options can reach 30,XXX. I'm taking that with a grain of salt myself, especially since other Toyota associates say they haven't heard of the official price. Although, I hope I can actually see the document that says this, maybe when I visit the dealership some time.

With all that it mind, a release date through May-June 26 seems more likely. I said June 26 because that's the end of Spring.

I'll try to dig more updates as time gets closer to the demo.

Didn't you all remember Leeky's thing late last year when he said they were only making one thousand. And then he had himself correctly by someone higher up at Toyota who was quoted and said "America was targeted at 10000 units a year", that's 5000 more then Subaru will have BRZ in the USA. Leeky even took the time to post and apologized for it. Japan is already known to get at least 12k of both cars combined. And they haven't even looked into the number that is getting into Europe. We know the factory can pump out cars,100k plus just wait and see.

Scion needs this car to stay alive, I highly doubt getting one in per month or one in per Scion is going to keep the lights on ;/ I do agree with information or something big is going to happen with the FRS in april.

Regional launches are only useful if market research shows that the product will have a huge impact in that market. I just went to one for the Scion iQ, one month after we received them at the dealership. During said launch, I asked the Scion rep when we would be having the one for the FR-S and she said probably June, but we would probably get them before that. She also said that the BRZ would be limited product which is why they were going first. There is an agreement with Toyota about how many they could make, the launch and everything associated. BRZ could launch first, but FR-S would have three times as many vehicles to sell. That means if Subaru is getting 3,000, Scion would get more than 9,000.

No actually a grain is enough. A truck load would be considered betrayal.

For an April delivery, wouldn't they pretty much already have to be in transit at this point? Not sure the timeframe from factory to east coast dealer delivery, but it must be a few weeks.
